Hi All, It's a sad day for me....  After 3 weeks of no music (XX) ( some renovation inside my house ) Yesterday was the day i could connect erverything back to normal... ( I mist three new versions so i was a little excited.) But there was nothing...  No music came from my speakers... I really tried every setting.... And after some testing for a few hours i gave up on it...  The only thing that i can think of the at the moment, that is that my soundcart is broken. The good thing though is that i could can get a new one..... But what should i buy....??? Also i do not want to spent to much money anymore... In the near future it's time for a decent DAC. Please help me out a bit.......?  EDIT: At the moment there is a PCI Emu 1212m inside.... |

Why/how would a soundcard be broken ? Of course it can, but still ...

Hi Gerard, Did you install any updates ....? e.g. Vista SP1? I am also looking for a soundcard to try more options in XX (lowering Q1 <21, double, quad, upsampling 24bits 192khz, ...) Budget is €150, Only 2 channel audio! The DDDAC 1543 has its limitations. But the sound is still great!! I don't know if all these new options in XX wil improve the sound. Untill now these are the best options for me: 1) E-MU 1212, 2) ESI Juli@ and 3) Audiotrek Prodigy HD2 : 1) -price (€150) - two cards - , +s/pdif optical & coax (44.1 - 96kHz) ++DAC 2) -no headphone output, - DAC , +price (€130) +s/pdif optical /coax 3) -only s/pdif optical - no sample freq 88.2 kHz, + only 2.0 audio, + price(€100) ++same DAC as 1212 + headphone + opamps upgradable. Hi Gerard,
This happened to me before with two different soundcards/pc's.
It was resolved by pushing the card more firm into the motherboard.
It is inconvenient but did the trick for me and is cheap too.

Hi All I am back First i like to say thanx for all the help.... It was a weird Vista thing i think... I alway's use the xp driver and that always worked.... But from one moment to another it did not anymore. But there was an official Vista driver ready and now it works again.... |
