Hi gang No, this is not a review of the last episode of Star Trek! I too noticed a drop in bass, as though my virtual bassist had been moved to the back of the stage. My Crazy A's from Bert have a dial on the back which could have restored his position but this had to be software related so I took a stab at Nervous Rate. Unaware what it really does I set it at 100 instead of 1, first time lucky, my bassist is not only back but with a quality of bass on a par with the top end improvements. This prompted a search in the 2.10 notes & it transpires that Nervous Rate set itself to 100 by default in previous versions, a bug that is now corrected! I have been backwards & forwards & my opinion remains the same. Try it....
Best Jack

Nervous rate 100 is the opposite of 18 practically, I experienced a noticeable lacking in all sound areas at this old setting. Less bass and treble.

Nervous rate 100 is the opposite of 18 practically High Robert. As always, thank you foryour input ! Btw, I noticed that the number "18" is not from the Nervous Rate anywhere (though you can set it alright). The 18 is from the Balanced Load. This too can be set at 100 ... but that is really not advised (really not for technical reasons). So we do talk about the same, right ? Kind regards, Peter

Unaware what it really does I set it at 100 instead of 1, first time lucky, my bassist is not only back but with a quality of bass on a par with the top end improvements. Hey Jack, Yes, that can *very* well be the issue for those who experience less bass. So I guess I am guilty to come up with the setting of 10 (I just tried that and nothing else) which was even prior to 2.10 being out -2.10 allowing for it- but let's say that this brings the super clear sound. ... which is almost opposite off "more bass" ... I will also add that Robert can be nright just the same, because indeed the 10 value brings more treble but the bass I can not judge because of other reasons. My bass is completely different anyway - so different that nothing compares (old references are invalidated). Now I am curious for Robert's response ... Best regards, Peter

Actually I did try balanced load at 100 not the Nervous rate. My mistake but will try that tomorrow.
Certainly don't recommend 100 balanced load.

No Peter, this is not the opposite of anything. It has an ambient quality that in no way "interferes" with the top end. But if a thump is called for, Look out! Talvin Singh, Left Field & Massive Attack are popular right now. I think I'm in love.... Jack

Have to say Jack, Nervous rate at 100 does change things for the better I think.
I really have no idea what these settings do one can only try changing them and listening. The Nervous rate at 100 gave an immediate 1db in peak volume at the same volume setting compared to NR10. Whether this gives me an impression of better not sure.
