Hi everybody,

2.08 will contain the possibility to get Tidal Playlists. Now I am (or we all are) seeking for forums where people provide great Playlists. Tore gave this example :

and below you see the first three I got from there via XXHighEnd.

The kind of problem or strangeness with this phenomenon "Playlists" and Tidal, is that you need to be pointed at them, as there is no way to otherwise find them / have knowledge of them. Only things as "What's new" or "Featured" or whatever, but that does not work really (in my opinion).
So what I like is that people who ran into a forum (or whatever site) who lists nice Playlists, mention those in this topic. Possibly we can also mention the general music style, if any ? Also keep in mind that we don't necessarily are able to read the forum of concern (like I can't read Norwegian) but that we can all copy-paste the links mentioned (can be done in the Tidal player and that is also how XXHighEnd accepts them (copy-paste).

Of course it is not necessarily about complete forum topics/threads with links to them as we can just as well post individual Playlists. It even can be so that you created one your own and explain what it is about.
On a side note, I also plan to create them with the press of a button and in real time. To that regard, it could be high time that you start investigating how to use the (e.g.) Show Gallery. Thus, appoint a (new) Gallery you have in mind for possibly the best Jazz (you obtained from Tidal, otherwise it does not work of course), and start pressing Alt-W when such a track passes by and when done (after a month or whatever) you can export it to a Tidal Playlist. Or, I'll make a Ctrl-Alt-W which puts it in the Tidal Playlist right away (readily available to everybody).

Meanwhile I will work hard to finish 2.08 soon.

Peter

("WiMP Labs: Audiotest") from tidal itself:
some interesting new tracks, some you'd already know and would propably enjoy to relax in between...
P.S.
I'm really looking forward to ver 2.08 !!!

Hi there Rudolf,

Yes, thank you !
I already knew it. And for you ? closely look at the differences you will encounter with Tidal herself. See the three pictures below.

Best regards,

Hi Tore,

It will be in there ...

It seems like I am starting to be addicted to it.
I will try to write a little about it in your topic about it : Tidal + MQA.

I thought I would share some of what I use for reference. All available on TIDAL.
Some you’ll recognize, and I hope some will be new and entice you to give them an audition.
I consider all of these musically enjoyable and demo quality recordings.
After Hours Blues: Wes Montgomery: Echoes of Indiana Ave
This is the most live sounding recording I’ve ever heard. “You are there” in spades.

Whats New?: Louie Armstrong & Oscar Peterson: Louie Armstrong  Meets Oscar Peterson
Piano sits just left of Louie’s front and center voice. Louie’s phrasing is just mind blowing.

These Bones: Fairfield Four: The Fairfield Four
Acapella – the harmonization is mesmerizing an the tenor voice just amazing – fun cut

Chasing Cars, I Think of You, I Put a Spell on You, & I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl
by Chantal Chamberland from her “Temptation” Album
I use Chasing Cars for getting my speaker placement to get voice dead center.
I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl – I play this one just loud enough so my Wife knows I’m in the mood.

Turned My Head Upside Down: Sara K: Are We There Yet
Nice guitar intro and solos with some great voice. Can get just slightly harsh on the voice, but the guitar work makes up for it.

Blues In Orbit: Duke Ellington: Blues in Orbit
The recording venue is a church, and that’s what makes this special along with first rate artists.
The more Church you hear, the better the system you have.

I’m So Lonesome I Could Die, From Four Til Late, & M&O Blues from Hans Theessink “ Songs From The Southland” Album
Great music with an equally great recording

Vicksburg is My Home: Hans Theessink/Terry Evans: Visions
Great separation of voices and some tasty guitar work

Roadhouse & Automobiles, No Sanctuary Here: Chris Jones: Roadhouse & Automobiles
Nice separation of voices, just fun songs

All Things You Are & Limehouse Blues: Andre Previn, Joe Pass, & Ray Brown: After Hours
Very liquid sounding tube overtones on this beautiful recording with “A” plus cast.

Miss You: Jacque Naylor: Shelter
A very fun take on this infamous Rolling Stone’s cut. My Wife loves this one.

Tell Me More and More and Then Some: Jacque Naylor: Jacque Naylor

Autumn in New York: Ella Fitzgerald/Louie Armstrong: Ella and Louis Again
Two giants singing a great song with a recording to match. Timeless!

Mule: Kenny Burrell: Midnight Blue
Famous audiophile recording, but in case you just missed it. The guitar playing and tone of his guitar is breath taking along with some great saxophone

L5 Blues: Joe Pass, Niels-Henning Orsted Petersen: Chops
This fast paced flawless duet just makes you realize how great these two giants were.
I was lucky enough to here Joe Pass once at a tiny venue (50 seats) in the back of Mc Gabe’s guitar shop in Santa Monica, California. Late 70’s.

Gary’s Theme and The Peacocks: Bill Evans: You Must Believe in Spring
Actually every song on this album is superb. I just listed two of my favorites. The Waltz for Debby album gets all the audiophile praise, but this one is the better recording with being the equal to Waltz for Debby musically. Bill’s piano on this recording is tonally superior as well as the rest of the band’s instruments

Goin’ Away: Sam “ Lightning” Hopkins: Goin’ Away
Another audiophile favorite you don’t want to miss. Great recording, and one of the best guitar solos of all time to my ears. Subtle take your time laid back “Lightning” just shines through with Lush 3 cable.

Consider Me Gone: Christian Mc Bride/Sting: Conversations with Christian
This can be repetitious, but if you like Stings voice and McBride’s bass playing with a little guitar work added to break it up, I think you’ll enjoy, I do.

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress: Radka Toneff: Some Time Ago (A Collection of her Finest)
Nice Haunting voice with interesting piano. When I worked at Acoustic Image in Studio City, California selling high end audio gear in the mid 90’s, I played this LP quite a lot.

Fever: (Live a (FIP) Musica Nuda: Musica Nuda
Classic song with a nice voice, and added bonus of some good harmonica work.

Blue Bossa: Brian Bromberg: Wood II
Solo upright bass with added percussion work by knuckle on face of bass and other interesting percussive to spice up a fun solo bass cut.
