If somebody could tell me how to connect to my headless XXPC from my Mac laptop using Windows RDC, I'd appreciate it.
My XX PC in on my LAN - I can see it in Finder and connect from there. However, using the XXHE account from the RDC client (which is current) does not work.
I thought I needed to activate Windows to setup another user but Peter says no. I thought I would post here rather than continue to bug him.
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere.

Paul, always use the IP Address (of the XXHighEnd PC) to connect to via RD(C). When the connection works, you normally login with the XXHE account. I thought I needed to activate Windows to setup another user but Peter says no. That is not really what I said. I said (or intended to say) it is not necessary to set up another account. That wouldn't even work elsewhere (in the audio (XXHighEnd) environment, later. Btw, it is difficult to really bug me. But I am off for the day now ...  Peter |

I had an issue once with RD where the IP address would not work, and against Peters advice I used the computer name "RAM-OS" and it works like a charm. |

So... one teensy little hurdle left here. I can't right-click from RDC on my Mac. This means I can't do things like:
- Select tracks in the play list, right click, and remove
- Use the right-click menu on the Save button
On the Mac (native), ctrl-click is right click. This does not work in Windows over RDC. I have scoured forums and Googled and tried every damn thing to get this silly little thing to work.
So, if anybody is using RDC on a Mac to control their Phasure PC and you've figured out how to transmit a right-click using the Macbook keyboard/track pad, please do enlighten me.

Sounds like you should try activating "secondary click" for your mouse on the MAC. I have a MAC and I can right click the mouse because I have that option activated. Right clicking (with this option activated) replace the ctrl click on your MAC and presumably also on your RDC connection.
You can find this option under settings and then mouse.
Seems worth a try to me since the fact that you mention ctrl-click to use sort of tells me that you do not have that option activated.

I use the trackpad, not a mouse - but it has the same option, and I have it enabled (always did). The two-finger tap just has no effect on the Windows side. |

You're implying that RDC will actually make use of mouse settings even when a mouse is not connected (it won't be in normal use). I kind of doubt that's true, but maybe - RDC seems to be a strange beast in many ways. I'll give it a try. |
