Hello Peter,
I’m using XXHE version 1.186a on an audio-PC (W7Pro / i7 / 2x SSD / NAS), playing in unatt. and min-os, and I get (some times) the following pop-up;
Change WP
Error setting the Wallpaper: Er is een generieke fout opgeterden in GDI+
The music plays (by the way, his version off XXHE sound very very good) and the wallpaper appears. So there seem to be nothing the matter except the pop-up.
Question: what to do?

Is this with Q3,Q4,Q5 = 1,1,1 ?
If yes then the OS has too much difficulties with showing the wallpaper (no matter it does appear) and I think this error can occur. Solution : don't show the Wallpaper (see Settings).
But is this 1,1,1 the case ?

Tjeerd, you can also try change the SFS slightly and see whether that helps (and now leave on the Wallpaper showing of course).

At this moment a have disabled “At Attended” (blue) in the CoverArt setting, and so far this seems to help (with Wallpaper showing).

Hi Peter,
Hereby an update.
I have changes the SFS setting 16 days a go form 120x120 to 12x12 (and still playing with this setting and with “Wallpaper showing”).
The pop-up is still appearing, but only when playing FLAC-files (resolution 16/44,1 - 24/88,2 – 24/96 – 24/192).
Showing Wallpaper:
- Sometimes the wallpaper shows after a few minutes (the music is already playing).
- Sometimes the wallpaper don’t show at all (the music is playing).
- Sometimes the pervious wallpaper is still showing at the moment a new album is starting (the pervious will disappear and the new one shows).
- When playing FLAC-files the track indication (mirror side of the wallpaper) stocks at the first track.
Any ideas’?

Hi there Tjeerd, Thank you for the update. But ideas ? I already told I'm afraid : don't use the Wallpaper (or don't use the 1,1,1 setting  ). But a question : Suppose you make 0,0,0 of Q3,4,5 - do you then still see that back of the FLAC album stuck after the first track ? Thanks, Peter |

I will try 0, 0, 0 for Q3, Q4 and Q5 and let you no what happens (and listen carefully for sound changes).
Just a question for you:
When will XXHE perform (sound, processor use, memory use, etc) at his best;
A – just playing Flac-files as it is?
or
B – Convert Flac to WAV (with FLAC Frontend) and play this converted file?

I have Just purchased 1.186a, and it sounds great.
I get the same error, and I read that the Q settings might have something to do with this. Are there any standard/generic settings for Q, SFS, and Clock Resolution that I could start from which might help prevent the error from occurring?

Well yes, set Q4 to not 1 and the same for Q5. But that violates the SQ severely.
Just shut off the showing of the Wallpaper in Settings for sure avoids the error message. So solution : don't show the Wallpaper Coverart.
Can't make it better or at least not at this moment (but will look into it).
