All, Today i tried to put W7 in dual boot fashion on the PC. But that went wrong for a unknown reason. I already had W8 on the pc and made extra partitie on the HDD. I made the install on the extra partitie and after that the pc booted right away on W7.  I guessed that i could make a choise between W8 and W7. What did i do wrong? Thanx |

Try hitting F9 repeatedly at boot up. It will give you a screen to choose which OS to boot....

Well Jack, not 100% sure what you mean, but at least I have never heard of F9 (didn't try either) but it seems to have helped Gerard. One thing : F8 sure does NOT work. Not Shift-F8 either, or alt or whatever everybody tells including F8 with upside down keyboard.
Installing the "legacy" boot menu does (help) though, but I think first other things are strange with the guy we pester so much. And anyway, your F9 does a job as it seems.
Or I misunderstood that ...

F8 works here! It offers various diagnostic boot options like safe mode & other ways of booting a troublesome OS. I have used it on 8,7, vista, XP,win2000 etc. Maybe you are not hitting F8 soon enough after turning on?
