Losing the settings is a problem I had anyway and it is to do with using IMDISK - so the settings are always lost during a reboot. It appears that is still happening even though I have set the new feature "Copy settings to" to the XXData directory.
But I still have no red letters in minimised. Again I just went through the whole activation process first of all with an incorrect activation key and as expected I could not minimise (getting the "you might like to contact phasure" msg) and so could not complete activation.
Then I used the correct activation key and whilst in full OS after entering the correct key and then playing music and closing XX then restarting and playing more music etc the red letters showed in full OS. So then I minimised the OS everything went correctly except that I do not get red letters when running in minimised OS. Apart from that everything works just fine. With the SQ I am getting it is difficult to believe that everything is not working correctly.
Let me know if you want log files - if you do you want me to go thorough the whole activation process before sending the log files? also can you remind me where to find them (it has been a long time!!) I realise I have to turn logging on first.

even though I have set the new feature "Copy settings to" to the XXData directory Should be your XX folder (of permanent storage). Yes, please send those log files - just from your current situation. Ther'e in the TemporaryData subfolder to your XX folder. For the RAMDisk notice that they will be in the RAMDisk; it is no problem to generate them from XXHighEnd being in the RAMDisk. |

My letters stayed blue all the time also. Even after going into minimised (not possible when not activated(?) and still blue.
From the past I remember something about showing covers when playing (red borders at unattended) so I did turn that option to work and after playing XX returned with red letters...
I guess my old activation might have worked anyhow but I have got a new one thinking I was wrong with the old codes before I thought about the wallpaper.
It might not be related anyhow but for me it seemed to work out that way.

Hi Peter - attached are the logs I hope they are the ones you need.
Also attached is a picture of the xx gui the thumbnails have red borders around them but the text at the top left is blue (OK grey in the picture but otherwise blue).

Paul,
I think that bert means to click the "Don't do anything with Cover Art" to let the Cover Art display. If XXHE is activated, then the frame of the Cover Art will be red when you play a song. After that, you can deactivate the Cover Art again and you will be able to see the red display as expected.
Now I remember that is how I got the expected info in red...

Hi Alain - Thanks as it happens I had already done that but without success.
Anyway I tried a complete re-install of XX and hit further problems. So in the end I had to restore the OS to a previous date - then a complete re-install with a new activation key (my previous key would not work) and now I have red letters. All is working fine.
I do not have a clue what can have happened but it must be something I did - anyway all is working now - thanks.

I have problems with activation with every new version and I think that the hotkey can be the culprit. When you activate, play some music and then restarts, the hotkey is running. I don’t know if is a coincidence but the activation works when I kill the hotkey before the XXHE restart. I wonder if it may be an interference between hotkeys of different versions.

The red letters only show up for me at the second song from a playlist since the wallpaper still shows the previous played song.
Luckily i remembered this from the previous version!
Sounds very very good, only stops after a while, have to experiment for that a little more.

Bert was right and there was nothing wrong after all, but the red letters did not show due to some complicated issue which was hard to grasp, was very concidental hence did not apply to all situations and ... is now solved in 1.186-a.
All having the red letters can stay where they are, but anyone having difficulties with obtaining them, or is due to Activate and wants to see it's successful, please download this new version.

First quit XXHighEnd and kill XXEngine3.
