Hi Peter,
From what I understand, I have to not allow the rest of the services to work, including the network. So I did not activate the "Stop all Services" when I minimized OS, since I need that (networking) + RDC.
Once in Minimized OS, I can select it ("Stop all services"), but of course, when the song(s) are finished, I can't have access to the music pc no more. I know there is a way to tell XXHE to bring back the network plus the Remote Desktop Connection, but it would spare me a lot of trial and errors if you could indicate me what and where to put them exactly ?

Hey Alain, I am sorry, but no, this can't work. This is do or die and exactly what it is for. Once in Minimized OS, I can select it ("Stop all services"), but of course, when the song(s) are finished, I can't have access to the music pc no more. Yea, well, uhm ... here I forgot to check a few things. So : a. you shoudn't be allowed to (de)activate this all only when in Minimized; b. therefore it is all moot (to even try it). Read : this will not bring you any better sound. But more importantly : why care ? you are already used to using the network, so no way your sound can be optimal. This is all up to you of course, like wanting to use the Remote is up to you. I sure hope that others read this too and are not too ignorant about it. It really matters. Peter |

Hum... May I suggest something ? While I don't know how complicated this can be, let's say that, like in unattended mode there things that are deactivated, would it be possible to add this functionnality with metworking and RDC ? So, when I start playing in unattended, the network disconnects and the RDC closes. All OK. At the end of the song(s), XXHE reactivate them ? Not a matter of life and death, but "if" it is possible without having to rewrite fundamentals in XXHE ?

Edit: Yes, I am certainly interested in using this new way of accessing the music pc. If I still had 2 dongles (only one working) for Bluetooth, at least I would use that instead of the standard ethernet...

Maybe I don't get it the way you intend, but I was under the impression that the whole point is to let the system "dead" for the time it plays music, and then bring the screen, the network and the RDC back - until the next play... An so on...  Alain |

Alain, what you ask takes a week at least to sort out. So No.
I told about 700 reboots for W8. Add to that maybe 100 for W7 to get this (8-2) going and do notice that on W7 it takes something like 10 times longer to reboot. So only that already.
If you read about the possible issues mentioned (Release Notes, ToolTips) you'd see that this is related to reboots and that it can't be about "just" restarting something.
Wasn't that you who shut down more services for your own fun and that causing W8 to malfunction all the way ? that sort of thing.

Maybe not the right topic Sorry for that. Os = Windows 7 x64 and it's a clean install. I experience another error after activating "stop all services" See the picture below. This error comes up when i click the play button. When "stop all services" is not activated it works just fine. What can cause this error? A second queston related to "stop all services"; What does "stop all services" do exactly? Is it an script stopping all services or is it doing more than that? If it only stopping services i can stop them manually right..?? That's what i did in former xxhighend versions. Further more; when i hit "minimized mode" after rebooting i following message is showing up in the bottom right corner of the desktop; Windows 7 build 7601 " This copy of windows is not genuine" In normal mode the message is gone..??!! Either way the system is working just fine it's more like a nag. |

That's what i did in former xxhighend versions. No way it is the same. But of course you can do what you want. But for sure you won't be able to do what the "Stop All" does. Windows 7 build 7601 " This copy of windows is not genuine" This is because the service which checks for your OS to be legal is not running and thus it is regared to be not legal. But no worries, it is totally harmless. And then regarding your error : I have seen this too, but if all is right this happens only once. Maybe per Minimimed OS session (coming from Normal OS).
