After beeing away from XX for a couple of years I recently formatted my Vista32 OS and installed Win7-64 on the same machine. Took a complete backup of all disk contents beforehand and restored the xxHighEnd catalogue back after the OS swap incl. the .dat file.
Tried to get my trusty 8C version running but the undemo doesn't work any more with my old code. I reckoned i could try the latest version...
This is what it looks like on my screen after the setup. Doesnt seem normal?
Any suggestions?
Btw will be happy to go back to my saved 8C version if I just can get the old code to get it running again.
Peter let me know if i can email you the old code from '07.

Hey hey LydMekk, Well, you certainly skipped a few "GUI" versions. And yes, your interface looks quite "normal" to me, although it seems that you have tweaked it yourelf to look like that. Ok, this is not true because I have seen it like this before, but it can be tweaked back or otherwise requires a more "fresh instrall". To do this, please install it in again a new folder (like you already did - I can see that), but, do not copy anything from your old version or this one into there. So, just unpack the RAR again. Your old Code is not valid anymore. Please read here about it : http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=2131.0When you are in that "Tutorials" section of the forum anyway, you will also find topics about Scaling and Skinning the user interface. But that is for later - it should first look more normal after a "fresh install". And otherwise we will work it out. Did as you suggested above, didn't help at all. Starting either new 7.5 version gives the same "blank" GUI.
What now?
Btw, didn't tweak anything, just a normal unpack of the RAR and starting XX.
Tried rebooting etc. didn't help.

As I said, I have seen it before and I'm not sure where it comes from. If you now, in your XX folder, copy the PresetLoader-FreshInstall.XXSI over the PresetLoader.XXSI file, does that change things ? Otherwise please look here to change things : Scaling and Skinning (btw start with 01 and then 02 and 03 when you like; the sequency is upside down I see now). Not that it's intended to use that right from the start, but for sure you will get things more to your likings from there. And do notice that this "blank" GUI is just one of the settings, and it is only that I don't see how things combine into that. You will see what I mean when you play around somewhat in that link I just gave you. One more thing which also contributes : See that slider in the left of the screen ? That is on the 2nd position from the bottom. Slide it all up and you will see a difference. Also look at the [ 1 ] at the top. Slide that more to the right and things will start to look more familiar to you. That *this* is so strange by default is most probably because you set your monitor's DPI (resolution) to 125% or so. This won't combine with XXHighEnd, unless you set the Scaling (see link) to 1.00. So or do this, or set the DPI setting to 100% (this is a Monitor property). Hope this helps you ... Peter |

Can it maybe be so that you receive the question (after the first startup of XXHE) whether you have an old XXData folder somewhere, that you nicely point at that, but that in your (actually very old) version as the previously used XXData folder this should NOT be done ?
Otoh, did you ever have such a folder in your old version ? probably not ...
