Hello All
I want to introduce myself as a new NOS1 USB DAC owner. I apologize first and say that I have been a lurker on this forum for some time now (years actually  dntknw) The computer knowledge needed to make XXhighend work properly has been something I genuinely struggle with. You could say it was quite intimidating for me. My thanks go out to all you regulars and your enthusiasm about the Phasure and XXhighend. You did not even know but you were keeping me interested with your enthusiasm and your commitment to the best possible SQ.  That my friends is something we share.

I finally faced my computer phobias (especially after reading Peter was building computers  yahoo .... It has already been ordered). I have just purchased what I once suspected and now firmly believe is the best DAC currently available anywhere. I have not even had the NOS1 for a week in my system; what's left of it that is...no more preamp, or DAD AX24 DAC, or RME soundcard and Antelope Isochrone word clock clapping and a soon to be replaced computer smirk. With Peter's help I got it going with my old computer. It is not running perfect but it is without a doubt the best sound I have ever heard from my system. I cannot get over the incredible musicality. It is the single biggest improvement and change I have ever heard in my system including speaker upgrades. My only regret was waiting as long as I did.

While I am waiting for the new computer I will continue to run 0.9z-61c. Thanks to all you beta testers out there. Get out all the bugs Cool  and my new computer will have 0.9z-705 optimized. Life is good biglol

I am checking out everybody's signature and looking for XXhighend configurations. If anybody has any recommendations, I'm all ears. Thanks again.

Below are my current XXhighend settings. Seem to work OK. I get an occasional tick and sometimes I get a message saying it took engine 4 too long to respond.

Peak Extend- On/ Arc Predict- On/ FX -on and slider up to 16/ Adaptive/ Device Buffer- 1024/ Processor Appointment -Scheme 3/ Player Prio- Low/ Thread Prio -Real Time/Clock Resolution 15ms Q1 -30

One question I have is about the volume control. Does it not work at all when music is playing? I have to pause or stop to get it to change. Thanks

When I was running Windows Home premium 32 bit I could never get the volume buttons to work. As soon as I started using my current OS they worked; getting the volume buttons to work was the primary reason for upgrading; man,  I got a lot more than operational volume buttons out of my upgrade!  Happy

Thanks Boleary. My Windows 7 Home Premium was an upgrade from Vista. When doing the upgrade, it would not let me do the 64 bit version saying the computer would only support 32 bits. I guess I will need to wait fror my new computer.

I found the SFS control last night. Rules Set it from 12 to 200. Can't go higher because I run out of memory.
