Hi Peter,
I was in the mood for some classical music and have a truckload of 48/24 FLAC files from B&W SoS. I observed a very audible and annoying haze of "tics" when playing (all) of these tracks with my normal settings (below). When the level increases the cracking haze becomes more prominent.
Throttling back to 8X AP everything sounds normal again.
Did I oversee a setting or is this some kind of bug or limitation?

Some more info: on thesetracks the clockres warning appeared. Some times with 1mssometimes with 10ms.
Nos buffersettings and other dials make no difference.

Can you be more specific ?
"AI" 16x and 8x does not exist, although you certainly can try to set it. So, what is which and when, and where do you attempt Play etc. - and exactly when does the message not appear anymore.

Hi Peter,
I have the same problem with 24/88 and higher Flac's. When I set the AP slider back from 16 to 8x this solves the problem. Is there another solution for this problem?

Sorry, I was very unclear. I just meant the 16x AP setteng where the cracking occurs.
If you start the nos driverpanel you have to select the 'errors' branch and see what has happened (or happens) during the cracking noise.

Audio PC (jan 19): XXHE PC v1 with RAMdisk w.o. videocard and 1 of 2 cpu fans + BRIX/USB3 storage musicserver. ETN to Fibre converters (linear supplies), 500m SFP modules & 5m OM4 cable. Power cable PE not connected, together with nos1 and poweramp in separate "audio" powerstrip.
Clarixa set + Intona (or Lush 1m), Phasure NOS1a-75B G3 USB (buf 16 ms)-> Blaxius ->SE EL95 (0,8W triode) + cheap link to Abaqus 300W plateamps> Bastanis cable-> Bastanis Sagarmatha Duo ("DIY").

I have the same problem with 24/88 and higher Flac's. When I set the AP slider back from 16 to 8x this solves the problem. Is there another solution for this problem?
Hey Johan, Although your problem will, to Coen, look the same as his problem back then, I don't think you have the same problem. But to know this, you must tell quite exactly when this happens. So, what you actually say is that it only happens with Hires files (and mention 88 as a base). But is this so ? or is it about 48 based files only, and already so with 24/48 ? I hope I have been clear enough ... Peter |

Hi Peter,
Did some tests.
24/48, 24/96 & 24/192 flac give all cracks in the sound. Usb audio console gives fifo errors. Reducing from 16x to 8x no cracks in the sound and no fifo errors.
