Music Root folder does not exist

Hi,
my music root folder is on C:. I installed XX a couple of days ago and the music root folder was found. Since today the program says that the music root folder does not exist.
So I tried set the root folder to my music root folder again. Started XX again and when I want to search for music I get the same message again.
I have not tried renaming the folder so far.
I can use the win explorer and put tracks into the playlist window (is this the right name?).
I would love not to reinstall.

Hi there Claudius,

Something must be too obvious for me to grasp;

The Music Root Folder is set in the Settings Area of XXHighEnd. This must match any existing folder. So the only thing I can think of is that you did not do this. Or at least now it is not so anymore.

I think you are able to fool things by in the mean time selecting another "root" at the bottom (the button with the "..." on it), stop XXHighEnd  and later start it again while in the mean time that particular disk has gone (like an USB etc. disk). It remembers what was lastly used there at the bottom, but if that doesn't exist anymore in the mean time ...

What most probably will solve it for you is explicitly select the folder at that same place at the bottom. For example :

In the Settings you have denoted c:\MyMusic\
In the mean time you selected something else at the bottom, like k:\MyRemoveable Disk\
It is this latter which can't be found anymore (I guess !). Now :
Go again to that "..." button, and select c:\MyMusic\
Now it will be alright again (assumed c:\MyMusic\ exists).

That solved the problem!
I selected another folder, started again. Then selected the Music folder again and there it was.

Once in a while I have this myself, but it is always in a situation I am copying something or want to add to Galleries, and at that moment I never can / want to interrupt my "work" - while the anomaly always happens later (at a next startup or something). So, it may come across a bit stupid, but it is somewhat hard to debug because I actually still don't know how to copy the behaviour. But that it can go "wrong" I sure know. Sorry for that ...

Hey Johan - Yes, that is what I thought at the time. But the stupid thing is : by "means" of doing something wrong in the first place, that left pane may stay empty because the "music root" can't be found *anymore*, and next what happens is that no rightclick is available there. So, besides it will be hard to guess for newbies that it can be solved like that in the more normal situation (hey, the post you referred to I think shows that I didn't even knew myself it was in there while I wanted to make it) - all should be able to default to the normal set Music Root (in settings) when the "virtual music root" - which is the one which shows at the bottom ! - is not available anymore (removing USB disk etc.).

But there are more situations, like renaming from within XXHighEnd. It just isn't much foolproof at this moment.
