Hi  Happy

I am a fairly new user of this wonderful (althoug a bit geeky) player, and am still exploring things. It plays and sounds a whole lot better than Foobar, though Happy

Anyway.. First off I thought I'd let you know that my virus program detected a virus (or more presicely a "threat") when I tried to run the AutoHotkey program, and thus moved it to the virus vault.

Ofcourse, now I wonder if I can download it once more without having to by another copy Happy , and how to do it. Can I download this particular program, or do I have to reinstall everything? Please explain..

Secondly, I have an issue with some tracks that I just can't get to play. I get messages like "Caller: F-cant find the file", "helper file don't excit" or "can't find helper file #0001.wav" or something like that. Very annoying, and I just can't figure it out  unhappy

Anyway, take care Happy

Hi there !

The porbably most comfortable way for you to re-download that AutoHotkey program is to download the XXHighEnd.zip to a new temporary folder, extract the .exe from there, and next copy it to your current XX folder. But : I'm fairly sure this won't help a thing.

I'm also fairly sure there isn't a virus in there because we really would have heard that many more times. The program itself hasn't been changed since it was put up for the first time (over 2 years back ?), which doesn't mean that by now it won't contain a virus. So, to be more sure for you, just download an older version from XXHighEnd (like from one year back) following the same procedure as described above.

I can't be sure at this time, but it looks like you don't have the proper rights. Like installing in \Program Files\ (you shouldn't), maybe UAC On (should be Off) and otherwise things I can't guess. Yeah, a full (RAM)disk maybe ...

If these "hints" don't help you, you can always post the XX logfile from your \TemporaryData\ subfolder under your XX folder (but it feels like you can get errors from there just the same). So, switch on logging (at the bottom in the Settings Area), click Play and let the errors all happen, and next grab the log file and post it here as an attachment.

Hi again Happy

Ok, now I've done some research on my issues and found out there is nothing wrong with my system wich is W7 Ultimate 32bits SP1, and an USB/SPdiff converter with it's own driver (bypasses windows operations) and reclocking. I discovered, however, that the prosessor in my PC is single core. I sincearely thought it was dual core..!

Well, since XX do use a fair bit of the CPU capasity, it seems I just have to live with a few glitches and issues until I can afford a better PC Happy

And for the "geeky" part.. I'd say it's nothing compaired to what LP/turntable users gladly live with.. Happy

Take care

... But I don't think it should incur for those messages you mentioned ...
Unless things are REALLY slow. By heart : maybe 20 seconds are allowed to convert a track from FLAC. But a log file will tell ...

Funny, Russ Happy And thanks Happy

I'm sorry for the long time in respons, but I've been a bit busy lately. And I will be as well, probably, the next couple of months or so, which means that I won't be able to be online much. It also means that I won't be able to deal with these issues of mine until I've got more tme availeable.

Thanks a bunch for all your help so far, though. Happy And I will probably be needing even more help in the future.. Happy

Until then, take care!

Cheers Happy

Haha, no, no I'm not. It would have been something to bragg about, though, wouldn't it? Happy No, it's just that trying to fix these issues will take some effort, and several hours goes by easily. And I'm not sure whether I've got the time. I probably won't be able to be online more than occationally the next couple of months or so.
