I have been trying almost every tweak now with 0.9z-2, but I cannot play back may 32-bit 96kHz wav files. All I hear is white noise. Foobar 2000 plays them back without problems. I am using HiFace into a Cambridge DacMagic. Anyone has any ideas?

Hi there Alan,
Most probably you will be having 32 bit float files there, and they are not supported. I started with that a year or so ago, but there really more to it to do it right, so I kind of gave up on it. This, in combination with my idea that it can't have any priority.
Can it be that ?

Good to hear form you and many thanks for your quick reply. Actually my wav files are PCM uncompressed 32-bit 96kHz converted from shn files by Switch Sound File Converter Plus and resulting in steady 6144 kbps. I don't think they are float, but I may well be completely wrong.

Hi again Alan,
I got it to work. So, thanks for your "sample file". However ... are you sure this track is right ? I mean, it's quite on the "hot" side when played at 32 bits. I can't be sure because I haven't got a 32 bit DAC (nor do you), but at playing it at -16dBFS or so, I can't imagine it can bear -0dBFS.
It still can be may error, but notice this has to be decimated to 24 bits to play it on a 24 bit DAC; In my case this happens automatically, but e.g. Foobar can't play it at "32 bis output" just because my DAC won't allow it; at 24 bits output it can.
It is too confusing to explain, but the file must be decinated to 24 bits first, and next padded to 32 bits to play on a non "24 bits only" DAC. This decimating I didn't do yet (the last 8 bits are chopped off anyway in the DAC), but now, as said, it looks too hot.
Oh well, never mind. That decimating should be in I guess, so after that it's better to judge. But it's a bit of a strange thing when you don't have a 32 bit DAC in the first place.
The sound is very okay ...
A quite worthless post I guess.

Many thanks for the info. I think I understand what you said, somewhat.
Though I do have a 32-bit DAC, it is not in the rig I am using at my current location. Here my HiFace accepts 32-bit files and puts them through to my DacMagic in 24-bit. The Foobar Output data format is set to 32-bit. So I guess HiFace is cutting off the 8 bit.
Anyway, what do I have to do to get XXHighEnd to play back my files.
