Hi Peter,
I'm having a licensed version and I'm using the latest 0.9y-8 version. I have the Hiface and I'm using adaptive mode, Quad and Arc prediction, buffer is 1024 and q1 is 1 (so more or less exactly your settings). If I'm starting a track the position slider starts moving before the track really starts and in the end the track stops before it has really ended (about 5 seconds with 200kb file buffer). The slider has reached the right end position then. If I increase the file split size it's becoming worse, if I reduce it to 50 it is nearly working well. This happens in attended and unattended mode, on two sperate PC's (bith win7 64bit) and with 2 different USB converters. I think in the olders versions I have not seen this problem. Do you have any suggestions ?
If I use Anti Image I don't have this problem.

And: together with the Hiface xxhighend is the best sounding source I ever had.

best regards,
Bernd

Hi there Bernd,

Funnily enough I would say that the starting issue just will be with Anti Image. But maybe things have changed ?
Anyway, especially for Engine#4 (Kernel Streaming) it still may be (or will be) so that Attended (which is what you apparantly are using) may have quirks or issues regarding the time position, and which even may end up in anomalies for the real playback. So, playing Unattendly (the checkbox at the bottom) is the real advise.

Also notice that the problem as you described it, is (without further anomalies) the exact other way around (ok, as how I see it) : it is just the time position which shows wrongly, while playback is ok.

Lastly, the end position of the slider has always been like that (unless it is the very last track I think), and I guess it will never change (say, too complicated to get that right, although it may sound unbelievable to you Happy).

In either case, don't change the Split File size to "solve" this, because it should be unrelated to what is really playing, while lowering the Split File size is not good for the best sound.
Again, if you use Unattended this will 100% be unrelated to what the time slider shows. Not because it is not there, but because with Attended it is more or less in control of playback. If all is right it shouldn't matter (or differ with Unattended), but for Engine#4 I know it is not waterproof.

I hope it is clear ?

I have seen the same effect here in attended mode: After play command the time position bar is running for 5-8 seconds before the music starts.

Hi Peter,
in some cases I prefer attended mode, especially if I evaluate some new music. If you don't want to hear everything then attended is more practical. So this is not really a big problem for me, but it seems to be a bug that you possibly can fix in one of the next versions (together with better SQ of course  Wink ).

Now I must continue listening to music with xxhighend...
