Can a PC realy read the data accurately from CD?

Do you actually sufficiently play with all the different settings in XXHighEnd ? Like KS Adaptive Mode vs. Special Mode ... Latency ?

It seems not to fit that you don't talk about that at all. Or I forgot ...

I use version 09-y7. The newer versions don't work. I can not choose KS-modes or the engine, for both of my soundcards (USB/SPDIF and RME Hammerfall HDSP9632). If  I play a file, the player starts but after some seconds it tells that there is no file.
In version 09-y7 I can just use enginge 3 but this is not your fault. It comes with that driver I think which has a windows avoiding kind of KS included.
I played with the q1 slider. After setting it to "0" I feel it could be very good. It is with less "grain" ("grain" probably exaggerates but I know no better word..) Comparing to the PD-S707 with a Bach CD I would now prefer XXHE. But that is just for today. These impressions change so easily.
My latency was about 120-130us before I reinstalled the OS. Now it is about 140us. I have not shut down any services so far.

There you have it.........maybe do chooce another soundcard, to get KS going.
I find adaptive-mode sounds very interesting.

Latency should'nt be a problem, wil get lower after tweaking though.

Maybe there is a way to get your current card going with KS.
Or maybe try a Juli@ or HiFace they will work, dont cost that much.

Thx audiodidakt. I found the work around. KS is no problem with my soundcard. Only if I use the Ploytec driver it doesn't work. I deleted the Ploytec driver and enyoing now KS. I feel it sounds better than engine 3. More relaxed an a bit warmer. I like it. But must xx be restarted to make the changes in KS-settings audible? If I switch from special to adaptiv and normal there is no audible difference to me. Using a buffersise of 64 everything works fine so far. My setup is (q1=16, engine 4, adaptive,64, scheme 3).

I now read the instructions for the use of different KS-modes (and I have to restart the track...) Ok, they sound different and I would say special mode sounds the most right. I actually made a listening session with a friend and he thinks, like me, the computer is now very colse sounding to the Pioneer PD-S707 Hoerwege. I would add that the PC is even on the "sounding better" side of close to the CDP. Very much thanks and gratulations to Peter! It sounds fantastic now!
