Today I bought an album,
And 2 problems during ripping are there at once, from which I thought it could be usefull to post them on the forum.
The first is about SECURE ripping with EAC,
Its important to use the "test & copy" function in EAC, meaning, to make use of CRC-calculations,
I had to rip the album TWICE, to get it right.
If you do not use test and copy, about 2-3 albums out of 50 are not SECURE, they have not the same CRC-calculations after test and copy.
Second problem is about albums that have pre-emphasis (not so many are)
While your rip is 100% secure it does have pre-emphasis on it, there is no problem if you just burn it and play it on a regular cd-player.
But this is NOT the case with PC-playback, the album needs to be de-emphasized, which is a lossy process by itself. (SOX can do this for eg.)
Thats why it is important to keep your logs and cue-sheets, because then you can recognize this by the "flag" in the cue sheet.
