Hi Peter,

After i bought the ram-os disk i had a lot of problems with tube amplifiers, computers, external cabinets,....so i did't use the ram-os disk. So i don't know if its the good time(summer)/ temperature (30 degrees)to start to make it working, but i want to make it working now. I have some trouble to find an external cabinet switchable for the 2,5" drive. I'm using a audiorack so i cannot use an build in hot swap bay. Am i correct that your advice is to use esata instead of using usb3?

Can i expect some trouble with the experation of win10 build10565 on july 29th when i have the ram-os disk not functioning at that time?

I hope someone has some suggestions for the external switchable cabinet for the ram-os disk.

Thanks!

Johan

Unrelated, but otherwise look here :

RAM OS Disk - Upgrade 10565 TRIAL.

Then your swappable bay thing ...

At first glance don't see what the problem could be with such a bay when the PC is in an audio rack. That is, assumed you can assemble it in the front, which usually is possible. Just kick out your DVD assembly (as the last resort) and take something (USB) external for that (the latter costs nothing - 15-20 euros).
If you mean "for in the back" then I can agree, depending on the situation of course.

This one looks nice to me, but could be harder to get :

http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001852

This will work too but is more expensive and less functional (what with 4x 2.5" swappable ?) :

http://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=142

I don't know about the first one, but all so often these things need brackets to pre-mount the HDD (SSD), like the second one does. This makes it somewhat less versatile. OTOH, if you get yourself that 2nd one, you should have 4 brackets. Happy
N.b.: That IcyDock brands has loads of such things so probably you can find cheaper ones.

Look at tweakers.net for where to get them currently.

eSata I never advise that I know of, because I'd say that it is not said in advance that your PC will boot over eSata.

The story with USB is that it is again not said that it will boot (modern PC's should though), and if it does it is not said at all that this goes fast (I never managed under 20 minutes but that could be me).

Too hot to do it ? ah, depends on what you're used to.
... and for us this is "not much" ... Happy
For now it is "behind the screen" work, right ?
