Just an observation that during my "problem period" of attempting to install Bluetooth (and failing  unhappy) there were a few times when wallpaper (that used to appear on screen in Unattended under W7) actually appeared on screen. It was definitely during situations where things were not operating correctly and never when operating correctly.

Also now that I appear to have a correctly operating W8 install it is interesting that if I am playing an album in Unattended then I press Alt X bringing up XX GUI if I then press "Stop" the wallpaper comes on screen very briefly before playback actually stops. The XX GUI stays on top of the wallpaper.

I just wondered if others find the same?.

In my case when I play stop and Alt-X the wallpaper cover art appears briefly too, but the weird thing is that the cover doesn't correspond to the record actually playing but to the first record I played when W8 was installed as if it was engaged forever.
