This is a list of functionalities you will miss out on when you're in Demo Mode. The list hopefully is complete and stays that.
- Very general : Sound Quality. Not that we deteriorate SQ on purpose for the Demo Version, but it's about some lacking features and now possibly you won't be able to "really get there".
- Minimized OS;
This feature makes your PC an Audio-dedicated PC and let's say that its main capabilities are that the OS will run much more lean and therefore faster. Obviously many "to the limits" features will be constrained now automatically. For example, if it is regarded that the lower the Split File Size (SFS - this is such a SQ parameter) the better SQ will be, then the leaner OS will allow for a much lower SFS.
- XTweaks;
All parameters in the XTweaks section are only available to Activated users; XTweaks main objective is "stability of the PC". THis is highly SQ related.
Time Stability (for Windows 8 and up only) and Time Performance Index in the XTweaks section are available to all users.
- Processor Core Appointment Schemes;
Demo users will be able to use Core 1-2 only, but this is not regarded a bad Scheme at all. However, since this is about "frequency trimming", only one main trimming situation can be tried when in Demo Mode.
- Phase Alignment;
This is a DSP like (but lossless !) means and it can take out sheer distortions to a large degree and imply purity instead.
- In the Demo version, the Library Area can show up to 100 Albums only. Not a big deal when you use Explorer to find your albums and drag the music files from there on to the XXHighEnd surface.
Notice though that the Library functionalities of XXHighEnd are fairly huge (including creating meta data Galleries of them) and that they won't be listed individually here - but all can not be performed (they can, but at a 100 albums only).
- For the same reason as above, Album Compare can't be really useful because only 100 albums can be compared.
- Again for the same reason you won't be able to batch copy/convert your whole Library from e.g. FLAC to WAV or the other way around. Again no big deal ? maybe not. But as far as we know, no other tool provides completely unattended conversions like these for all of your albums, no matter where they reside (different folder structures, different disks, etc.).
- Last but maybe not so least : In the Demo Version Playback will stop between 6 and 60 minutes. Just like that and without further warning. No real worries because you can restart XXHighEnd and perform the trick again.
To keep in mind :
Unattended Playback is available to everybody. This is not to be confused with Minimized OS, since Unattended is just a playback means without any User Interface (the best for SQ) with sustained full control.
Confusement may submerge when we see that Unattended Playback kills all the denoted Services and Processed (see Settings) which looks similar to something like a Minimized OS, but really is different and less SQ improving. So, this killing of Services and Processes is just available to everyone, while Minimized OS removes those Services and Processes (and more) from the OS in the first place, for the boot session. *That* is where the sh*t happens.
Since booting back into "Normal OS Mode" is just that other feaure, you need not to worry that your OS will be destroyed all over; it just restores your OS to the state it was when booting into Minimized OS Mode.
