Peter - many thanks for your help and I have to say that I am very embarrassed
because setting up RDC using the IP address would normally be the first thing to try - except I didn't even think about it because using the computer name worked in full OS - ah well!!!!!
Moral of the story is if you think you know how Win8 works don't assume Win10 works the same way.
Another moral of the story is that if you think you get good support from a hi-fi company it is nothing compared with the support you get from Peter.
Now I am looking forward to listening to my system sans video card, VDU, keyboard and mouse.
