This version solves issues which were present in the 2.00 main release.
For the Release Notes of 2.00, look here : XXHighEnd Model 2.00 - New Filters & Extended Remote Control.

Install any new version in its own folder (your 2.00 Activation could be violated otherwise).

Watch out : Anyone who obtained an Activation Code for 2.00 or 2.00-a may/will run into the situation that the 2.01 version won't be activated automatically. Please obtain a new Code through PayPal and of course the money will be returned instantly as usual.

Release Notes 2.01

  • A check for installing in the Windows Program Files folder (which is not allowed) failed and caused unclear anomalies for some. Now the check should work.

  • There's standard logging now during the Install. Possibly this is helpful when problems occur.

  • All kinds of inconcistencies could be implied with Coverart and (Running Time) OSD settings. This in itself would violated playback (like when a next track to play was in order).
This has now all been tested and solved.

  • The Running Time in number format started to look odd (mixed up) after a volume change. This is now solved.

  • When all was set so that things normally played, but the Wallpaper Coverart was used, then it did not change when a new track or volume change was in order. Also solved.

  • The Save As button in Settings as well as the Favorites [ F ] button near the bottom with Library Area active - lacked the "RightClick" glyph.

  • One of the last things solved for 2.00 was the DPI Awareness in proper fashion; "Proper" means to have/make something out of the Microsoft Standard solutions because Scaling through that is all odd and with improper Aspect Ratio;
What was not seen with that solution is that now the XXHighEnd screen would grow and grow and grow after each new startup. This again too is an MS bug.
But solved via a backdoor solution.

  • There's a check now that looks for the Install Drive to be Drive C: when Activating. If not, a warning message follows telling you that possibily you're Activating a RAMDisk version which in the end will fail.
Notice that for the Install Drive it is perfectly OK to be something else than C: and it is only that you will get the message in that case, while all actually is fine. All you need to do is pay attention that you're not activating the RAMDisk instance of XXHighEnd.

  • Major issues could be in order when using a RAMDisk and remote facilities were to be used, like the XXOSK.exe On Screen Keyboard. These are now solved (it all concerned MS Windows bugs).

For you it is good to know a few things :
When you use XXHighEnd from RAMDisk, all involved should be used from RAMDisk. One of the elements in order is AutoHotkey.exe and the other is XXOSK.exe. The first is not much under your control, but the latter is not much under "our" (developer's) control (because it is you who starts it). Also, both imply the same (this is the short cut commands) and both can mangle with each other. But main thing :
When a remote command is given and knowing that XXHighEnd.exe itself executes those, you really want to address the same XXHighEnd instance that you use in the first place for playback. Thus, start XXHighEnd from RAMDisk means that Volume Up also should use that instance.
This all looked to work fine but it did not at all and what happened could make one crazy, depending on the "combination". But for example, being activated in the one and not in the other.

This is now all solved and when needed AutoHotkey is restarted from RAMDisk or wherever you started XXHighEnd from (this did not happen anyway previously) and when the XXOSK is already up but you change the location XXHighEnd starts from, the XXOSK is closed and restarted from that other situation.
It is all quite transparent now, while previously it was unmanagable, BUT we all didn't even see it going wrong (yes, the resulting effects of it without understanding what was going on).

  • With Touch Screen Facilities activated, in some situations it could be incurred for that a Double Clicked Item (Album) in the Library Area resulted in the message "No Tracks or Library Items selected" (another error message could show as well).
    This is now solved.

  • Both the 2.00 and 2.00-a versions could crash XXHighEnd during the install because of some strange bug not occurring everywhere / for everyone. This is solved now.

Reminder for Windows 8 users : Don't forget to install the Windows 7 Shell provided with XXHighEnd. See the Windows7_Shell folder in your XX folder and don't forget to read the readme's in there !
Notice that this Windows 7 Shell does not work for Windows 8.1.

Just start the XXHighEnd.exe file; no Install as such is needed. See below at the mouse arrow.

However, when you are running Windows 8 or higher - have not used XXHighEnd before - and are not connected to the Internet, first read this : Windows 8 Tutorials - Install .Net 3.5.
