When I add varios playlists to the playback list, they appear one above each other, and then by alphabetical order.

Is it possible to re-arrange the sorting by name so all the playlists are melt toghether and sorted by name?

I have tried to find it here but no luck!

Thanks for your help Happy

Hi there and thanks for asking instead of giving up right away.

What you will be doing, I think, is attempting a sort of "iPod playlist" which is not really what XXHighEnd is made for. So, I could say "no". But ...

Actually via the Library Area (where albums or tracks show in the middle pane with coverart) quite some things are possible. Now sadly, this goes over the Randomize functions which are deactivated in the current version, or didn't work well otherwise. In the upcoming 0.9z-7 this is restored again. But still useless to you at this time of course.

Then also, you are not the first who wants something like this, and I just as well can make it work for you. But here too, it will be for 0.9z-7 or even a next version.

Small available trick for now :
Go to the Library Area (2nd button above the middle pane), and change the A near the bottom into a T and click Search. Now all the individual tracks appear. Next type something like love or bass or drum or maybe just "the" in the box left to where the A or T is and all will be filtered to track names containing that word and it will be pretty much random for the result. Take care though that the word isn't contained in the album (hence folder) name, or otherwise you will receive that whole album (though per track) in sequence again. Select the tracks you want to see in the Playlist Area (don't attempt hundreds or it will take a while) and load them in there with the "Load" button (the Downarrow near the bottom). If you want you can drag tracks to another position in the Playlist Area.

Oh, the location where you search is the one which is filled in in the bottom textbox.

Regards and good luck, and let me know if you have other questions,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for answering as this was driving me a bit crazy not to find the option.

I'll re-explan what i want to do... because my engish is not so good.

What i do is load different folders onto the playlist, as i have my music collection ordered by "styles" folders.

What i want to do is to be able to "re-sort" by alphabetic the playlist when i have all the folders loaded.

It will be great if its possible in the future.

Thanks again for answering Happy

Ok, clear. But wouldn 't it be so that you actually want to randomize it ? So :

You load several albums, and next all the tracks of them should be mixed randomly. Do I have this correct ?

Hello Peter,

Well, what i would like to be able to do, is re-list them by alphabetic after loading all the albums/folders.

Randomize would be nice maybe. But the function i'm looking for is relisting them alphabeticly.

Hope it's possible to do in the future and not a big mess.

Thank you again Peter Happy
