Audio World '11

Just been to the Audio World '11 show at Heathrow. I gave up Hi Fi shows over 20 years ago because of the poor quality of many of the systems but I had to meet someone there so I thought I might as well have a look around. Well it seems not much has changed over 20 years (with one or two notable exceptions). The price of some of the systems was eye watering but that did not guarantee good sound quality by a long way. Some of the demonstrations were really very poor but what were the exhibitors hearing? not the same as me for sure. There were exceptions though and one was Voxativ Ampeggio speakers - very interesting would be interested in a closer listen. Has anyone heard of these before?. I cant think of any system that I heard today that resolved detail so easily naturally and effortlessly as my XX fronted system.

Anyway very glad to be home and listening to XX driving my system it sounds better than anything I heard at the show by some margin. And I don't even have NOS1 yet!!!!!!!!!!!!   Quite an eye opener today.
