Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: Optimizing setup?

I would like to draw a comparison to photography: Now that cameras and lenses are becoming more and more technically perfect - sharper - there is a clear trend towards less than perfect, analog photography with character. At the moment I shoot with a pinhole lens with the greatest pleasure. Let's see when I will enjoy modern lenses again ...

Hi Michael, it is necessary to "wrap" the MajiorityClean.exe program (and other programs too if necessary) into a Windows service. For this purpose the tool sexe64.exe is available, which you can download here: https://www.nanshiki.co.jp/software/sexe_en.htmlOn this basis you can register a service for this program, whose name you can enter in XXHighend and which is not stopped in unattended mode. Unfortunately there is no magic recipe. Some deeper knowledge in Windows would be advantageous to understand the context. Maybe you can find someone in your circle of friends who could do this for you - if there is no one here in the forum. Georg

Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: Intona alternative

Hi Peter, yes, I recommended trying the Intona Isolator. You were not so enthusiastic after the first tests, but you have fixed the weaknesses in terms of firmware together with Intona. It's been a while and many waves have washed up on shore in the meantime :-) I think that the hardware of the Alldaq Isolator is now built differently, I found a PCB simulation on the net (@alldis.de). However, the galvanic isolation is still important and has a significant influence on the sound quality.

Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Intona alternative
|

Hello all, after I lent my Intona USB isolator to a friend (isolation of measuring devices), I looked around for a replacement. The parts from Intona came naturally first into question, when the same friend gave me the tip to look around once at Alldaq, there he would have wanted to buy his isolator for the measurement tasks originally. So we agreed that he would use the Intona isolator and I would test the Alldaq isolator to swap back later. The Alldaq isolator can do USB3 on both sides and has a separate power supply on the secondary side, to which I connected a linear power supply. On the primary side I connected a USB3 cable, on the secondary side a USB2 cable. I'll spare myself deeper descriptions here, as there is still a bit of long-term experience missing. Short and sweet: The Isolator stays here and is at least an equal alternative to Intona. Georg

Hi Peter, they are excellent settings especially with the DAM and the Quad ESL. I can confirm the punch in the bass region . It's amazing and there is authentic rendering of music. I reactivated my SL6 after many years and I am amazed what monitors of this age can still do. I'm also driving the SL6 with the new settings - with excellent results. Georg

Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Installing XXHighend Error

The following actions did work here for the fresh installation of Windows 10 and XXHighend: - Determine the market launch of the microprocessor
- Choose a Windows 10 version, which came later to the market
- Disconnect network connections
- Install Windows 10
- Disable Windows defender
- Install .NET 3.5 from Windows DVD
- Download XXHighend Version from 2.07 up (better the last version)
- Copy XXHighend Version to suitable directory and setup
- Set UAC to optimized XXHighend usage
- Click to Stop W10 Updates
- Set back UAC to normal
- Activate
Something went wrong when stopping W10 updates fails. In my case I installed a too old version of W10. Regards, Georg

Hi Peter,
installed build 14393.0 with success. There is a correlation between the processor type, the version of Windows 10 and the XXHighend version. It is probably necessary to use an operating system version that has a version date similar to the microprocessor's market launch. Thank's a lot for spending your time.
