Ultimate Audio Playback / Phasure NOS1 DAC / Dead?

Hi Peter & all I have always left all my system on 24/7. We had a local power cut in the evening recently. Everything went off then maybe 30 mins later all back on except the PC which did not have restore power set in bios. Next day I turn on PC, load XX & get warning that a different sound source is now configured. So I turn DAC off & on & go through the setup procedure. With switch 4 down & battery connected the interior lights up but there is no offset display showing, the dials are blank. I don't even know if the DAC is on! Is there an internal fuse that could have blown or some other circuit protection? If one of you could stop me from fretting it would be much appreciated... Regards Jack

A bunch of us migrated from Bert's forum after XX had become all that was talked about for days/weeks, I might even have been the first to register. Bert of coarse introduced us to PeterSt & his "new" way of playing audio. I remember early days being a guinea pig for Peter's 64 bit version as I had a 64 bit rig & he at that brief moment had not. He would email me a version which would either run or not! Eventually of coarse it was a runner & the rest is history & a shed load of coding & hard work for our host. Thank you Peter & your "workforce". Live long & prosper....

Been spending a bit of time at home recently, so listening a bit more. I'm guessing one or two others are in a similar position! Anybody got any recommendations of new music? Particularly with a view to showing off the system...

Gentlemen & lady, let us rejoice in the fact that our hobby puts us in an ideal position to self isolate. There are those that have to watch TV repeats endlessly! Stiff upper lip mankind...see you on the other side!

Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / The Best of Both Worlds

Hi gang No, this is not a review of the last episode of Star Trek! I too noticed a drop in bass, as though my virtual bassist had been moved to the back of the stage. My Crazy A's from Bert have a dial on the back which could have restored his position but this had to be software related so I took a stab at Nervous Rate. Unaware what it really does I set it at 100 instead of 1, first time lucky, my bassist is not only back but with a quality of bass on a par with the top end improvements. This prompted a search in the 2.10 notes & it transpires that Nervous Rate set itself to 100 by default in previous versions, a bug that is now corrected! I have been backwards & forwards & my opinion remains the same. Try it....
Best Jack

Hello There was enough room in that box for a six pack! However, try as I may I cannot get the 1.04b driver to install, I keep getting an error. I have tried upgrading from 1.03 to 1.04 or 1.04 on it's own, but no. With the 1.03 installed device manager reports it as 1.02...? Any thoughts please Jack
