Wow, thanks for your full reply and for making the current situation very clear.

I read the W2K thread and do have a copy of W2K Pro, so may experiment with that until I can get hold of a copy of Vista Home and you've released Engine #3.

In the meantime, I'll try out Engine #2.

Hi Peter,

I'm keen to try your player but am not sure whether it's possible to bypass Kmixer when not using a non-certified USB driver.

Please could you give me some guidance?

If the dreaded Kmixer cannot be avoided in XP, can you recommend a non-MS USB driver or do I have to move to Vista (I can upgrade for free) or invest in a FireFace 400?
