1  Ultimate Audio Playback / Phasure NOS1 DAC / Re: Price NOS1 goes up + Upgrade on: September 03, 2013, 03:39:08 pm
Question about pricing.  So the correct price for the DAC as of today is 3890 euros.  Does this include any and all upgrades available?  If not what are the upgrades and their prices?

Thanks

I asked the question on the J.river board.  That like is from 2006 so i wanted to make sure that feature still works..  Stay tune..

At least that seems a nice way of never being able to get rid of JR eh ? well, what to say ...

Maybe there is some kind of an export function ?

But now JR has to much DSP stuff and wayyy too much video stuff for me.  I like to concentrate strictly on audio.  So I have to figure this out.  As it will be my main player..

But how is the coverart with JR stored then ? There must be some structure in it too, right ?

All covert art is stored in Y:\Coverart.  It must have some kind of pointer.  When the files are imported it asks you where do you want to put your cover art.  Then upon import it automatically finds the cover art (on the internet somewhere) and stores it in the cover art folder.

OK - So where and how do I add the X:\Music files?

And how do I get them to show up?

Sorry Peter,

Yes my drives are set up as follows:

Y:\Music...

X:\Music...

So your saying that all .jpg's should be put in the associated AlbumName folder?  If so this will be a very difficult task.

2.  I have 2 network drives where my music lives.  How do i load both drives  X:  and Y:?

The 'Gallery' function will organise your music folders spread across various disc drives and allow you to merge them into one entity(s) if you wish. The 'Gallery' is in essense a collection of pointers to where the files are physically stored, and once the gallery is created, you no longer have to remember where your different files are stored.

Some users have set up folders within the gallery to denote the different music genres, eg, Country & Western, Jazz, Rock, Classical etc. When you add new albums to your drives, you then decide which of the genres each belongs in , and point to those gallery folders when you create the actual gallery entry for each new album.

A search through the forum will assist.

It may also be prudent to "map" your network drives X: & Y: so they always appear on reboot of your system.

Cheers for now and welcome to the forum Happy

Russ

Yes - Drives already stay mapped.

Are you talking about the gallery that's labeled:  Nice Stuff Gallery, and Demo Gallery under Data Locations in the settings area?  If so It doesn't seem to allow me to do much.  This is what I have so far under data locations:

Music Root:  Y:\Music

Data Folder:  C:\XXData

Intermediate Files Folder:  X:\Music  (I don't know what this is)

Nice Stuff Gallery:  Y:\coverart

Demo Gallery:  ???  (I don't know what this is)

Naming Scheme:  ArtisName\AlbumName

Please advise..

Hey there Peter .. enjoying your heat wave ? Wink It's a balmy 34C here at the moment!

I agree you can see the coverart by using the Library Area button on the top bar, then navigating to individual folders by using the search function at the bottom, but that will only show the contents for that folder. I assumed that preproman wanted to see ALL his albums at a glance, and unless I'm mistaken all these years (which has been known to happem .. lol), then a gallery with all his albums, spread across multiple drives, needs to be created first. Once created, he then simply points to the gallery root, and all under it are displayed.

hooroo,

Russ

That's correct Russ..

A little background.  I'm coming from J. River.  So I have my drives and files configured as such:

Y:\ArtisName\AlbumNames\tracks
Y:\Coverart\.jpg files

X:\ArtisName\AlbumNames\tracks

So do I somehow have to put each .jpg file in it's correct album folder?

Edit:  Solved...1.  My undemo button is grayed out - how else can i purchase?

But may I ask ... how did you solve that ? I don't recognize it in the first place (that the undemo button can be grayed out) ?

Thanks - and welcome !
Peter

I didn't use the nudemo button at all - I just saw a place -(cant remember where it was) that said activation key - that worked.

This seems to be a little tricky. How do I load the cover art for all albums?
