2. I have 2 network drives where my music lives. How do i load both drives X: and Y:?
The 'Gallery' function will organise your music folders spread across various disc drives and allow you to merge them into one entity(s) if you wish. The 'Gallery' is in essense a collection of pointers to where the files are physically stored, and once the gallery is created, you no longer have to remember where your different files are stored.
Some users have set up folders within the gallery to denote the different music genres, eg, Country & Western, Jazz, Rock, Classical etc. When you add new albums to your drives, you then decide which of the genres each belongs in , and point to those gallery folders when you create the actual gallery entry for each new album.
A search through the forum will assist.
It may also be prudent to "map" your network drives X: & Y: so they always appear on reboot of your system.
Cheers for now and welcome to the forum
Russ
Yes - Drives already stay mapped.
Are you talking about the gallery that's labeled: Nice Stuff Gallery, and Demo Gallery under Data Locations in the settings area? If so It doesn't seem to allow me to do much. This is what I have so far under data locations:
Music Root: Y:\Music
Data Folder: C:\XXData
Intermediate Files Folder: X:\Music (I don't know what this is)
Nice Stuff Gallery: Y:\coverart
Demo Gallery: ??? (I don't know what this is)
Naming Scheme: ArtisName\AlbumName
Please advise..
