I made a comparison between a XLR Nordost SPM and a RCA Nordost Valkyria and the difference was insignificant to my ears at that time and so I stuck to cables with RCA connectors.

I doubt if you can draw a general conclusion like this. Isn't the fact if a amplifier is differential or single ended an importent parameter in the equation? It could work out differently for different topologies. So I will try out for myself anyway  Regards, Stanley |

I'm a bit puzzled. Stanley, am I crazy or did I see this post about literally like it is now before ? I am pretty sure, but I can't find it (in this topic). Anyway, back then already I couldn't answer the question(s) easily because I don't see the relations well (and next I suppose I "forgot" because you deleted your post ?). Some rock albums of the seventies (Yes, Jethro Tull, King Crimson) were reissued through the years in various “remastered” editions. For me, most of the digital reissues were never satisfactory and I stopped listening to most of them. At the time I mostly blamed it to a shift in my musical taste (to jazz and modern music). Recently however I read about reissues of some classic rock albums (prog rock if you like) that were really outstanding according to the reviews. These were remixes by Steven Wilson (of Porcupine Tree). According to the information these are *remixes* and not *remasters*, which means, as far as I understand it, that no compression, equalization, reverb and the like were added. The albums I got, Jethro Tull’s “Benefit”, “Thick as Brick”, “Passion Play”. Gentle Giant’s “The Power and the Glory” and Yes’ “The Yes Album” and “Close to the Edge” are so much better than the former reissues. For me, they give the original “life”, "timbre" and “sparkle” and remind me of the albums I heard on LP when they first came out plus some extra. Steve Wilson also did the King Crimson 40th anniversary box set, but I have not heard this. There are more remixes to come. Has anyone heard these and what do you think. I recently discovered some cables with a capacitance as low as 47pF/m. The cables are hand made by order and this is what the technician who build them told me when I asked him about the capacitance of this cables (this is a translation, sorry if there is some technical fault): "The previous version had a Star Quad (4 twisted conductors) geometry with a common braided shield. The new one is a miniaturized version of the above: same metal, same insulation, same cotton filling, but being thinner I can use two separate conductors per channel, each with their own shield and each with positive and negative signal in braiding pair. By reducing the size I can use an additional wire for connecting the grounds, and thus the shielding of each tube is connected only at the end of the destination (male connector), and so the only effective capacitance is the one which occurs between the stranded conductors: 47pF/m, unlike the previous cable that´s about 50pF/m between conductors and 100pF/m between conductors and shield." This cables are the most neutral and clean I ever had. I compared this cables with the AntiCables and found the AntiCables adding some kind of brilliance, same as Mani said. As a plus they are cheap. Now all my cables are made by this guy including the power cable for the NOS1 with an L shape connector which make it easier to route the interconnection cables without touching the power cord. Regards, Juan I use these cables for some months now and I only can concur with Juan, these are very neutral cables. Compared to my other cables (cryo, silver, etc) these cables do everything so much better, that I really forgot them .
