Post by: SeVeReD on June 27, 2009, 03:46:22 am Ya, I'm looking forward to the blending of a dac with xxhe... I need to start saving some money up. I'm very happy with XXHE 09-X7 ver. Been playing around with double on xxhe just for fun ...
and I found a brand new PS Audio Premier for a too good price to pass up: I have one already for my front end (dac/xover/fireface), minus the computer... so, I'm going to dedicate this new Premier to the computer and external HDDs. k, now I'm just kinda rambling here, because everything is so hunky dory and working well that no one has anything to say about xxhe ... peter In the new version coming out, did you say you made xxhe have the ability [chk box] to just display the front cover [folder.jpg] automatically, but only if there is no back cover [back.jpg]? ... rather than generating a mirror of folder.jpg and track a song list? I must honestly say that I'm gracefully taking advantage of the fact that 0.9x-7 is nicely stable, although I'll admit that a few users are bothered by a bug here and there, but which can be overcome I think. So : It is the first time that I can start some really larger projects without the pressure (or even stress) that major bugs are hanging around, and by now I'm just starting such projects randomly while in the mean time the previous are not finished. I only want to say that currently so many things are half-finished that no upgrade is to be expected soon, which only is a good thing I think, because an upgrade (in this beta stage) usually incurs for new bugs. As honestly I must say that this for me quiet time nicely comes together with the necessary work on the DAC, and if this is not about soldering for several hours on a change, it is about measuring and calibrating that change which can take ages, only to find out that the change concerned was for the worse. So this by itself is not much efficient, but usually it ends up in an improvement again so it sure is worth it. Indeed it is so that I'm currently also working on some degree of integration of XXHighEnd and mr. Phasure NOS1 which clearly allows for the utmost of music playback, but which is beneficial in general to a certain extend just the same (meaning outside of the NOS1). Peter |
