Title: NO sound - have used "installation guide for dummies" Post by: Tore on May 27, 2009, 06:15:05 pm I`m new with this and have now done my first download and payed for it. But i have no sound, have tried USB and SPDIF to the DAC. The dac i working when i use a DVD-player as a drive.
Everything looks OK, the xxhighend player starts playing but no sound. I have not installed the Hotkey yet and i was answering yes insted of no under the installation when the questinon "load previous settings" came. Because of that i deleted the downloads and tried again. Now the player is missing the data under "info" and the "play" knob is inaccessible . Can someone help me? Title: Re: NO sound - have used "installation guide for dummies" Post by: PeterSt on May 27, 2009, 07:29:31 pm Hmm ...
Did you slide the volume up ? (when you use a pre-amp, just all the way to -0dB) Did you choose the correct Sound Device in the Settings Area ? And how is your Sound Device called ? Btw, do you use Engine#3 and Vista ? On the Play button and the Info ... is there a track loaded in the Playlist Area ? I think this not being the case can be the only reason for the Play button being inaccessible and the Info data not being there. Right now I don't know any further questions, but after you answers I may ... :) We will get you there ! Did you slide the volume up ? (when you use a pre-amp, just all the way to -0dB) : Yes Did you choose the correct Sound Device in the Settings Area ? Do you mean Output? There i have choosen Primary Sound Driver. The other choices is different HDMI output and one RCA. No USB or SPDIF And how is your Sound Device called ? What do you mean? Btw, do you use Engine#3 and Vista ? Yes On the Play button and the Info ... is there a track loaded in the Playlist Area ? I think this not being the case can be the only reason for the Play button being inaccessible and the Info data not being there. It is not posible to choose a track now when the Play button is not working. But i think it is a track loaded, ervery time when i start the xxhighend player the same track is there Title: Re: NO sound - have used "installation guide for dummies" Post by: AUDIODIDAKT on May 27, 2009, 10:27:57 pm Hey Tore,

Does this help? Dell Studio D055401 PC, Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 processor , Vista Ultimate, DDDac with USB/SPDIF, Integrated amp I`m at work and can`t give you more Title: Re: NO sound - have used "installation guide for dummies" Post by: PeterSt on May 27, 2009, 11:17:37 pm Quote The other choices is different HDMI output and one RCA. No USB or SPDIF I think in this area something is wrong; You have a soundcard (sound device) somewhere, right ? it is on the motherboard or a PCI card, or anything that you recognize as to which your DAC is connected (when means of SPDIF). Now *that* device must be chosen in the Settings Area. When you rightclick on the speaker icon at the right in the taskbar tray and choose "Playback Devices" your soundcard etc. must show up in the list. If it does not, something is wrong. When the DDDac is USB connected you should be able to find "USB Loudspeakers" amd when it is SPDIF connected I actually don't know. But anyway something in which the DDDAc is recognized. I hope this will take us one step further !
