I use a laptop with Empirical offramp & pace car into Audio Note DAC with Foobar (running src to upsample to 24/96) on the laptop. This sounded good - at least I thought it did. After a few initial problems I got xxHighEnd working. To my amazement it blows Foobar away - there is just no comparison xx is just much better. This all the more surprising because I am using engine # 1 under Vista with Vista upsampling (yuk) my 16/44.1 files to 24/96 which is the only format that the Pace Car will accept.

But I sure hope you can create something for the OffRamp to work. I now recall that Emirical doesn't use the normal protocol for USB, which really doesn't allow for 24/96 (16/96 it does), and which will be your problem. In the end it will be WASAPI not understanding this protocol. But maybe I'm wrong. Peter |
