I just downloaded a 24/96 album from iTrax (John Gorka, The Gypsy Life) but when I try to play it I get THE CRACK Alert ! And XX not only gives me this warning but also refuses to play at all. from those files. What can be done about it ...

Nice discussion on Diy Audio by the way :) Many people out there that rather theorize than try and listen.

Yep, I tried The Gysy Life (last track of that album), and it doesn't look good.
Now tell me, my free download (which you get at obtaining your userid etc.) just does work.

Now why.

the files from this album do not start with the previous version of XX either, error messages all over the place. And other material from that site plays fine. I willl mail iTrax to check this album.

But these  Gorka files do play on Windows Media Player...... No problems at all, except SQ that is :)

No don't mail them. It's already solved here Leo (0.9u-5).
I don't think there's anything anymore that won't play now, if it's for unofficial (yeah what is that) header data.

Well I will mail them again, as I did not expect you to solve it that soon. I am listening to the iTrax music now. Thank you very much.
It is really very nice music for the latter part of the evening. I notice now that XX can as a matter of fact also improve the taste of red wine (only when used with 24/96 files of course)

In fact, now I can go and listen to all the various tracks (links to them) all of you sent over time which didn't work. I have a whole collection of them by now !
