Title: Necessary Privileges
Post by: dsm on February 11, 2018, 02:42:56 pm
Hi Peter,

Yesterday I started a new install with 14393.  Everything was up and running until I tried to play unattended with the minimized OS. After the "Wiat for services  to stop", a "Necessary Privileges have been set. Reboot" showed up. After rebooting, still the same message.

The UAC is set correctly but I can remember if there is something else going on, especially if it is something particular to this build.

Best,

David

Hi David,

I too recall that this occurred - maybe more than once. Can you find it on the forum maybe ? I think it should be there somewhere.

Also, you use XXHighEnd 2.09 right ? (with some more recent version this problem was just there).

Lastly, did you set Contiguous Memory (instead of Mixed) ? It can well be that the current 2.09 bounds to that setting a bit too much (I mean, now I think of it). So it could be an odd combination.

Anyway, it should be able to work normally.

After the "Wiat for services  to stop", a "Necessary Privileges have been set.

Rereading that, something looks fishy with the combination of Unattended. So most basic step to get it right ?

- Be in Normal OS.
- Set Straight Contiguous Memory;
- Press Play in normal Attended.
- Now the question to reboot should occur.
- Reattempt after the reboot and it should work.

Now go to Minimized OS etc.

And when you're at it, if you can solve it with the last sequence, maybe you can tell what you did when it did NOT work. Always good to know, and possibly I can prevent it for a next time.

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

This is a new install of 2.09. The problem is only when trying to play Straight Continuous and everything works fine playing with "Mixed".

I've going though the forum but keep coming up with the same things I have already tried. This seems to be the same problem but no solution-

I have moved the UAC slider up and down, rebooted, changed the Registry setting to 0, etc. It always seems like everything with the UAC is correct but something is still not letting XXHighend control the memory.

There is a RAR file batch file  I found for new installs under 2.07. Is that still necessary?

Nope.

That was solved all right. But I forgot how.

Which are first things NOT to do, and if all is right you ran into warnings about that. One step in the wrong direction and you can reinstall your W10 (seriously).

I found this post :
Re: Win10 - playback will not start now (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=3265.msg35288#msg35288)
What I suggested - and which was applied there, is even logical because without password you'll have less rights. No RDC allowed, for example.
So that will be the culprit (I hope !).

Peter

Thanks Peter.

I knew there was one other thing to check and it was the " Lock pages in memory". I added me as the user and now it is all up and running with the "Straight Continuous"-

By the way, I was able to purchase a used Lush here in the States and am amazed by the drastic change already!

Best regards,

David

I know about that topic but I did not point you to it, because how can it be that ?? I mean, don't we all use the same 14393.0 ?
Or maybe not because you use a Home version ?

I used the same version you sent me a link to.

It is a bit maddening going though an  OS install and getting everything to work well, making all the necessary tweaks and then after a year saying, "Well, maybe I will change everything and start over with a new OS and see if it sounds better".  Then when the new install isn't working right, there are vague memories of how you fixed the same problem  years ago but  can't remember how...

It is so rewarding though when everything is back to normal and sounding better then you could imagine.

Best,

David
