XXHighEnd

Last week my Music Server -Asus Notebook, Win 10 home- suddenly totally stopped working.  As a temporary replacement I had a Lenovo Notebook -Win 10 pro-.
XXHE attended, Normal OS,  did function flawlessy. But in unattended mode, Min OS, XXHE stopped reacting at XXOSK.  Also using the USB-keyboard gave no reaction. I had to give a hard reset for the Audio PC. Since that moment XXOSK doesn't start up. I get the message of "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. ....... Configuration system failed to initialize". If you choose "continue", I get a grey square in upper left corner. 
I remember I had the same problem some time ago. Then I could recover it by using a system restore point. But now, to my surprise all the former restore points had been gone and the last -and only- one didn't fix the problem.
I'm not quite an IT-expert, so I just tried a few things: sfc /scannow, reinstall Net Framework, running CCleaner for temporary files and let it fix the registry. But no change. XXHE still doesn't react at the keyboard, so I can't use unattended mode  -XXHE yet does return to visible mode after playing all the tracks-.
Is there a solution for this or is it better to reinstall OS and XXHE?

Music Server: Win 10 pro, RDC to Audio PC

Can you point me to the original Activation Email ? You can do that by email if you like !

I think, what I recognize of this, is the Operating System means of storing "form settings" and this has failed on you. Nothing I can do about it.
What happens if you rename XXOSK.exe to e.g. XXOSK1.exe and start that one ? I think all could reset, but use that name from then on (nothing checks for that name and nothing starts the XXOSK from within XXHighEnd).

I followed your suggestion and indeed the onscreen-keyboard did appear again normally! But in min OS and unattended mode it disappears.
I had no time to search for the reason. But I can use the keyboard at the musicserver now,  so I can listen again!
Btw, my wife, who didn't know what I was doing, listened very attentively and said: "now it sounds right again, like before". I think that's a compliment for your great work!

Haha LOL ... I had to think a bit, but indeed, your XXOSK1.exe will be killed now because it is not an internally protected program(-name) to (let) stay.
Do this :

In the Services section in Settings, there's these two large fields. In the field named "Keep Processes" enter this :

{XXOSK1}
(or whatever name you gave to it)

And now it will stay.

Thank you and especially your wife for the kind words. And worship the power of your wife. She can be crucial in the process anyway but also has better ears than we male. Or at least they won't be biased to self-bought speakers and such.
