Listening last night the sound quality is simply superb natural sounding. I had not had time before to really appreciate it so I just wanted to say thanks Peter. I installed 2.08d during the weekend and listened for a few hours since. Apart from an overall better sound, there's another thing that is very noticeable in my situation. The stereo image was not always stable and a little asymmetrical (in analogy: like you can't see pin sharp). Some albums suffered more from this than others. But with 2.08d it's gone. I can "see" sharp now. The stereo image is more stable, which makes listening more enjoyable. I don't know if others have experienced this also, or that it is system specific. It would seem almost everyone has something different from .7 to 120.
I was running .9 but tried 1.5 then 1.8 and now 2.8. I tried 10 but definitely thin sounding for me. I tried to set to 3 as per Paul's but it just resets to 2.8. I do prefer it at 2.8 at the moment. I also tried 2x 1.8 and it would not stick at 3.6. Certainly got a great sound. I do notice differences seem easier to hear between settings with 2.08d. Robert |
