Title: Tighter inlets on the NOS1a USB and AC inputs Post by: juanpmar on July 12, 2017, 10:32:13 am Peter, would it be possible to put tighter inlets on the USB inputs -in the style of the industrial version of Intona- and also on the power inlet? Now the connectors are not too tight, mostly in the power input. I'm thinking about it to take advantage of that we are sending the Nos1 for the Bass upgrade.

For USB I understand what you mean. But this is just Neutrik and although fakes exist, I wouldn't even know of such a same inlet. But funny : what Intona uses for the B inlet I can't even find anywhere. This is for PCB soldering, but still. To me it looks like this is old stuff or something, from the time USB power ports emerged, and they were red. But the phenomenon does not exist any more. For the power inlet replacement is virtually impossible because it has to match the hole (size) for it. On the other hand, for the power inlet I don't recognize the problem as such. This can easily be the cord you use, of course. On a last note, you wouldn't be the first who "wears" the connector by means of a too large connector. So especially for USB this happens (I recall that such a cable which was send around (VJ) had the problem of a too large USB-B connector - but not sure it was exactly that cable. So you will be able to put it in, but now the connector grew a little and the normal cable is too loose. Best regards, Peter Title: Re: Tighter inlets on the NOS1a USB and AC inputs Post by: juanpmar on July 12, 2017, 08:31:33 pm Thanks Peter, according to a popular Spanish saying "if it can not be it can not be and it is also impossible", I guess it loses the sense of humor when translating it to English.
Well, in other words, if it's not possible to fix it, no problem, I can live with the connectors I have. Kind regards, Juan Title: Re: Tighter inlets on the NOS1a USB and AC inputs Post by: PeterSt on July 13, 2017, 07:22:40 am :)
Title: Re: Tighter inlets on the NOS1a USB and AC inputs Post by: PeterSt on July 13, 2017, 12:16:02 pm Juan - Very coincidental :
In a far past we bought 100s of those Neutrik USB terminals. Three weeks ago they were about all gone, and because each G3 upgrade requires one extra, I again bought a new batch. So, ... 6 years later from this first batch. And what happens ? I was just lterally told : "Oh, btw, those new terminals are much tighter ! it really takes a firm push and pull to get the cable in and out !". And so I am writing you this 3 minutes after that fact. Because everybody may like this for the better, I need to say that for 14 euros the two connectors can be replaced. So in case you/people don't know, the one in there for the Display which never really got to work, is also used with the G3 upgrade. Plus a new one which is already in the price (so 3 in total). Btw, funny again : the whole subject came to the table because by now my own input has worn out (my own NOS1a/G3 to test all the Lush cables). Yes please, when you receive my dac for the upgrade change the USB inputs.

Can we replace it ourselve? :scratching: Title: Re: Tighter inlets on the NOS1a USB and AC inputs Post by: PeterSt on July 13, 2017, 01:22:21 pm Gerard, I saw that one coming ...
I has a longer story already, but I just scratched that and say No for now ... Peter |
