I'm quite sure I know what you refer to. Care to explain it ? or would that be daft ... Regards, Peter Title: Re: London 3/6/17 Post by: manisandher on June 04, 2017, 07:17:32 pm After hearing the news (quite late this morning), I sat with my cup of tea and queued these tracks up, kind of subconsciously. And on finishing listening to them, it seemed to me that I had selected just the perfect music for my mood - kind of like selecting the perfect wine for a particular dish.
Not sure why I wanted to share, but I think it had something to do with the ability of music to communicate in a way that nothing else seems to be able to... to me, at least. And why share on this forum? Well because I doubt that the music would have moved me in the same way had I been listening on any other system in the house. And thinking about things now, surely this is the real purpose of our spending so much time tuning our respective systems - to be moved by the music, no? Talking purely for myself, I think it's easy to get drawn into analysing the sound instead of connecting with the music. The former certainly has it's place, but I think sometimes it's necessary to just let go and let the music take you to where it wants to take you. Mani. Title: Re: London 3/6/17 Post by: PeterSt on June 04, 2017, 08:03:57 pm Mani, beautiful. And beautifully spoken.
I only heard it this morning too. At this moment coincidentally the track "Raven" plays from Christian Willisohn - Heart Broken man. This is the 4th track. But while reading your text, the goosbumps rose to infinite height. I don't know what the track (lyrics) is about, but the chords certainly matched the mood a 100%. So yes, that is what music can do. Thanks ... Peter Title: Re: London 3/6/17 Post by: pedal on June 05, 2017, 10:12:37 am Hi Mani,
Which version of Tubular Bells is your favorite? (It has been reissued and re-worked a zillion times). PS: Looking forward to your NOS1 G3 update! |
