Title: Unattended with ram-os drive (Windows 8 and 10). Post by: AlainGr on August 14, 2016, 05:29:51 pm I have attempted quite a few times to play in unattended mode (mostly in RAM, I don't recall doing it in BASE OS Minimized). In my setting the "Persist" is ON with the LAN.
As long as I do not shut the RDC window on my Server PC, I have no trouble, but if I close it, I can't get back to the desktop view. Sometimes it shows something but it looks like it is taking long enough to bring me back to the RDC opening window. Some othet time, it will not do anything. I simply press the "Reset" button to start a new Windows session and leave my RDC window either open or I do not use unattended mode. This seems to be happening no matter the OS I use (BASE or RAM mode), in Minimized OS. Since I do not detect any difference (audible difference), it is not a big concern for me, but I was wondering if there is something I am missing ? I'm afraid that is too much of "you know what is happening" for me, while I don't have a clue. So a couple of things, as brief as possible : Quote I can't get back to the desktop view. Desktop view ? Quote I simply press the "Reset" button to start a new Windows session Reset button (I saw the quotes, but ...) ? And in general : How long do you stay away from the Audio PC's "connection" ? I mean, it is known that the Audio PC can fall asleep when the RDC connection is it there, but I am not sure it is that what you experience. Let me add that I continuously have the RDC connection open, just because I know the Audio PC may fall asleep otherwise. I don't see the need to close it at any time (just sits on the taskbar when I am doing other things than audio, like answering this post (on indeed the Music Server PC). It can be complicated sometime to correctly identify something.
I mean "See the desktop", with the icons, the taskbar, XXHE coming back into view. It just stays "empty" and then I am ejected from the RDC session but now necessarily with an error message. It just shows the window to access RDC like when we click on the RDC application the first time. By "Reset", I mean a "hot start". Apart from the Power button on the audio PC, I also have a "Reset" button and it skips the shutdown sequence. Something I will use only when the PC seems frozen. I have checked the Power options. There does not seem to be as many options as there was before, but I will go back in BASE and Normal OS mode first to check this and report back. Alain |
