Title: Strangeness in RAM OS Post by: jhmvl on July 25, 2016, 03:56:31 pm Hi,
I have some strange behaviour of my RAM OS disk. After successfully upgrading the service OS as Peter described I can now boot only into the service OS and the RAM OS'es but not into the base OS'es. I select a base OS in xxhe to boot into, press apply and then reboot but it goes staright into the service OS and not the base OS that I selected. If I then look in xxhe which OS I selected for booting it points to the service OS, which is definitely not what I selected (I am very sure of that after trying a few times now). Any idea what I can do to boot into the base OS (the RAM OS'es start fine which to me is strange becuase it is the same as the base just booted from RAM if I understand it correctly). I hope this description makes sense. If not then I can try to post some screenshots, not entirely sure that that will be informative so I did not do it straight away. In this case I think the screenshot will be informative. So yes please. Just the screen which follows from the "Boot into" choice. Thanks, Peter Title: Re: Strangeness in RAM OS Post by: jhmvl on July 25, 2016, 08:12:54 pm Hi Peter,
Here is the screenshot. I am not sure if it will show up because I attached it as a file. As said, if I select a base OS from this screen then it will only boot me into the service OS. If I select a RAM OS then everything works as expected :wacko2:. Regards Hans Title: Re: Strangeness in RAM OS Post by: PeterSt on July 26, 2016, 07:53:18 am Hi Hans,
Are you sure this is the original disk I sent you ? Of course I suggest it is not ... :) Peter Title: Re: Strangeness in RAM OS Post by: jhmvl on July 26, 2016, 08:13:09 am 100% sure. I don't dare touching it, only with instructions like replacing the service OS. I am too afraid something goes wrong, so, yes, this is is the original disk, nothing done to it, except as instructed.
Hans Title: Re: Strangeness in RAM OS Post by: PeterSt on July 26, 2016, 12:26:13 pm Hans, I'm going to send you an email.
Peter Title: Re: Strangeness in RAM OS Post by: jhmvl on July 26, 2016, 05:28:25 pm Thanks Peter, it works now.
However, now I encounter the message in the attached screenshot. Not sure why I have all this but the bios thing created a lot more problems than I expected I guess. Hans Title: Re: Strangeness in RAM OS Post by: PeterSt on July 26, 2016, 05:33:39 pm Hans,
Look at the output Sampling Rate in XXHighEnd (left most pane, slide the [1] button (near the top) to the right if the pane is not visible); maybe this is not what you expected. If it is, then look under the [F] button in the main screen (near the bottom) and see whether there's a higher sampling rate filter selected than the one of the output Sampling Rate in XXHighEnd. Regards, Peter PS: Hard to think this is BIOS related; take care that you actually boot into the OS you intended (if this is not so, it is a best reason to find your settings changed - like Sampling Rate ;)). Thanks! I was so focussed on bios and such that I did not see the blinding obvious. Of course this is not bios related, I just never started started this base OS before :-) Hans Title: Re: Strangeness in RAM OS Post by: PeterSt on July 26, 2016, 07:47:48 pm :)
