XXHighEnd

Windows 10 Build 10565 will expire July 29, 2016. Therefore it will be a good idea (for convenience) to upgrade it (in your RAM OS Disk to a newer version - one that does not expire meanwhile.

Important : When your RAM OS Disk has a green sticker like you see it below, over the RAM OS white sticker, this has already been done by us (shipments from of July 14, 2016).

Edit Sept. 6, 2016 : When there's a "3" written on the green sticker, it means that you have a version with W10 14393.0 installed on it plus this 14393.0 and also 10586.0 have been adjusted for OS Timers set for optimal SQ when the OS is booted from RAM. Notice that from of XXHighEnd 2.07 this can be set by XXHighEnd.
W10 10565 BASE + RAM now have been removed. Notice that the screenshots more below do not reflect this.

Here's 14388 : Download (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B82Qx9VwoovtSnhDNlM4OF8zN0U).

After downloading, when you unpack it, you will also find the Windows 7 DVD DownloadTool in there;
Use the Windows 7 DVD DownloadTool to create a bootable USB Flash drive (pen/stick) of the ISO (you downloaded per the above). Watch out : Run this on a 64 bit computer or otherwise it won't work.

In XXHighEnd, boot into 10565 TRIAL.
However, make the PC go into the BIOS and in there change the date to a date before July 2016. Of course you can have changed the date prior to rebooting into 10565 TRIAL.

Put the USB flash drive in your PC and run the setup(.exe) in there.

This first part can be initiated through RDC but when it is finished (~10 minutes) a reboot takes place and the remainder is to be done with normal keyboard, mouse and monitor (takes another ~20 minutes).

Let it run untill it finished and 14388 is up and running.

When XXHighEnd is now started, it can happen that a message appears that XXHighEnd does not run with Administrator privileges. A reboot solves this.
Then :

Start XXHighEnd, RightClick on Stop, choose Stop W10 Updates

and next choose Boot Into; Change the "Windows 10" entry (the description of it) nicely into
"W10-14388 TRIAL (do not use)"
(don't forget to exit the field (like with Tab) and press Apply).

Lastly, boot back into the OS of your liking.

Your RAM OS Disk is now ready to be serviced by means of the new 14388 TRIAL OS, later. This will not expire.

After this process should one remove W10-10565 TRIAL(do not use) permanently from Ram OS. And reset Bios date to current date.

In fact remove W10-10565 Base and RAM also. I've only ever used 10586.

I can never get the Windows 7 DVD download tool to work on my 64 bit computer. I've been using isotousb.com freeware.

The 10565 TRIAL is removed automatically, because it is overwritten (it is the one you upgrade to 14388).

The 10565 BASE and RAM versions are completely unrelated to this upgrade activity. It is the same as with 10074; it is expired (10565 very soon now) but you can still use it, as known ...

If you want to remove those to free up disk space, you can;
Delete the entries in XXHighEnd (both BASE and RAM) and next deleted the files (+ Copy version).

Peter, as I only use the 10586.0 version I wonder if it is necessary to upgrade for any other reason the 10565 TRIAL?

I can't emphasize enough that this is not related to any of the BASE OSes;
The TRIAL is your maintenance OS. It is the owner of you harddisk (so to speak).

Side note : with tricks you can use the other OSes for maintenance too, but this really is too difficult for most if not all.
You you just need a running OS for that maintenance - just in case and never mind that at this moment you can't even imagine why or what. But if you need to boot into it, you should not be welcomed with a blue screen and a message that a crucial component it missing (which would be the proper date, but you won't really recognize that).

It often appears more difficult than it is. And one is always anxious that we don't stuff it up and have no music, me included.

Follow Peter's instructions closely it works perfectly. I bring up Xxhighend instructions on my tablet which I have beside me and work through the settings on your audio computer.

I'm probably telling you something you already know. I have been printing out metres of Xxhighend instructions and decided recently to use my tablet. I'm over 60 so a bit slow to using new technology.

I used isotousb.com to setup ISO file in USB flashdrive.

Juan, leave all to default when using the DVD DownloadTool.
(I can't even imagine that it asks for that and if not indeed, where you get your question from :)).

I got it from Robert´s isotousb.com, there it asked for the file system but anyway I´m going to try first the DVD downloadTool.

PS after this installation I´ll go for the 2.06a upgrade, we´ll see... :scratching:

The DVD DownloadTool is from Mr Windows himself, so it should work (haha).
But as said elsewhere : run it on a 64 bit system or otherwise nothing works and you won't see/undestand why (it needs additional stuff then).

Here in my laptop with W10 64bit the DVD DownloaTool doesn´t work. I used instead Robert´s isotousb.com and all is ok and now I have the bootable USB.

In a while I´ll proceed to the upgrade  8)

Why?, I don´t know, the first time it looks that there wasn´t enough free space in the USB key (15GB free) but the second time the message was the same.

Peter, the upgrade was made correctly. I changed the date in the bios previously as you said. In fact I didn't touched it because it was January 2016. After I finished the installation the date changed to July /09/2016. Is that correct? Otherwise all seems to work perfect.

If you don't use 10074 you can set the date to "today".
Might you ever again want to try 10074 or 10565 (BASE or RAM) you can set the date to Sept 2, 2015 for both.

I ran into the same adversity as Juan and solved it the same way (with IsotoUSB). Patience is a virtue that is being called upon. Putting the ISO on my USB took as much time as the Win 10 update. It seemed to last forever but it actually was "only" 70 minutes.
Note that I had to reboot another time for the UAC thing.

Now I can start my vacation in peace!

If all is right the USB device will be erased completely anyway. Maybe it did not ? (you're asked questions about it by the program)

Something else is that think I see that you used Windows 10 for it - is that right ?

If so, maybe that is the problem and that by now a newer (working) tool exists. I always apply it on a 64 bits (!!) W7 machine. Takes maybe 3-4 minutes ...

Before adding the new Win 10 build 14393.0, I took the opportunity to switch from W10 build 10565 to !0 build 14388.

All went fine, but I accessed regedit at the end to change UAP with the value from 1 to 0. I used the instructions you wrote here: http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=3680.msg39255#msg39255
