Title: Windows 10565 and RAM OS Post by: PeterSt on June 12, 2016, 12:59:41 pm All the owners of the RAM OS Disk should be aware that from of the end of Jun (2016) the first messages will start to appear about the expiration of 10565 on July 15.
This means that people should watch their System Dates ... Peter Title: Re: Windows 10565 and RAM OS Post by: Gerard on June 12, 2016, 01:33:39 pm What was the date set at the moment we got it from you? Do you remember?
And do we have to unRAM it first before setting another date? :) Title: Re: Windows 10565 and RAM OS Post by: PeterSt on June 12, 2016, 01:52:13 pm Gerard, Sept 2, 2015. But this is for 10074. Should work out the same for 10565 I'd say, but I did not try.
Quote And do we have to unRAM it first before setting another date? Good question with an answer of No. Notice that probably it is so that we all (including me) already forgot the procedure (for 10074) because we started to use 10586.0 which does not require the date setting. But we will see soon that changing the dates requires some "persistency" because each of the OSes has a will on its own, until you could make the full round of doing them all; then it sticks/holds to each of the OSes. I am not sure but possibly this only occurs when you intitiate something in the PC (I don't know what apart from installing an OS) that will not go beyond (further back) the date of creation of the OS (October 2015 for 10586.0). Similar is that one can also imply the date to be today's and of that too I never saw it happening, but it did. Som IQ stuff in there ! (something else than SQ stuff :)). The easiest way is creating so called "GodMode" directory. Once created, you'll be able to see Control Panel functions and of course, be able to change the system date / time. Enable God Mode: 1. Make sure your system account has administrative privileges. 2. Right-click on the Windows 10 desktop and choose New > Folder. 3. Name the folder: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} and hit enter/return to make it stick. That's it :) Brgds, George Title: Re: Windows 10565 and RAM OS Post by: Tore on June 16, 2016, 07:15:56 pm Thanks George!
I have no problem finding control panel, but where to go from there Tore Title: Re: Windows 10565 and RAM OS Post by: nik.d on June 16, 2016, 07:29:08 pm Hi Tore,
Simply scroll down and find section 'Date and Time'. Click last sub-section 'Set the time and date' PS Snapshot I made is from my W8 PC, it might be somewhat different in W10 but that's the task - change year/month/day.
