Title: D:\W10-10586.vhd - RAM desapeared from the title bar Post by: juanpmar on May 09, 2016, 02:31:15 pm Peter, no idea why in the XXHE v. 2.05 when booting from the RAM-OS into e.g. 10586.vhd or vhd RAM the title stay always the same: XXHighEnd 2.05 (C:\XXHighEnd\2.xx)
What perhaps mistakenly did was restart from the ram without placing back the RAM-OS hdd. I´m sure that I´m playing from the ram because I can pull out the RAM-OS hdd and use XXHE without problem but, is there something wrong? Nice trick ! but I just tried it over here and it doesn't want to boot (so remove RAM OS Disk and Reboot -> nothing but which can be done with some other trickery, I think !). Yesterday I tricked the lot the other way around : I thought I was booting from RAM, removed the RAM OS Disk, after which it went awfully silent ... (so indeed that doesn't work, although it works for a minute or so). It has to be so that you have an OS on one of your music disks. Can it be that ? (like put in RAM OS Disk and boot) I'm afraid that my option is not the culprit either (OS on music disk). So now I am veeeery curious what this can be ... Peter Title: Re: D:\W10-10586.vhd - RAM desapeared from the title bar Post by: juanpmar on May 09, 2016, 04:39:01 pm Peter, I can do absolutely the same as before. That is, I can load any system in the ram and remove the RAM-OS and everything works properly in the Audio Pc. The only difference I can see is that in the title bar always appears the same. Here I put another picture, in this case with the 10586.0 BASE. As you can see the title is again XXHighEnd 2.05 (C:\XXHighEnd\2.xx), the same one as the previous picture.
Yes, there´s another W10, the one I use in the Music Server Pc, it is in a partition of one SSD where I also had Tidal and XXHE 2.04 and 2.05. Now I´m not using Tidal anymore but the Tidal structure and XXHE versions are still there. Can you confirm : a. You can get it all right again (so no problem in the end); b. You can repeatedly reboot without the RAM OS Disk in there. Ad b. I wonder : How do you know that it actually reboots ? So if you connect a monitor to the Audio PC, you may see unexpected things ... So if you connect a monitor to the Audio PC, you may see unexpected things ... Peter a. You can get it all right again (so no problem in the end); I can work with the different OS in the RAM-OS with or without the RAM-OS hdd inside the Audio Pc with no problem but always appears the same title in the bar, as you can see in the pictures. b. You can repeatedly reboot without the RAM OS Disk in there. No. I misspoke. What I meant is that I tried to restart from the ram (without the RAM OS Disk) but could not. Then, the computer was as dead, did nothing. I had to turn it off and put the RAM-OS Disk inside, since it is when it happens that the same title always appears at the XXHE bar. But it is still not clear whether you are able to let show the proper message in the Title Bar (the one with "RAM" in it when really booted from RAM). Peter No, I´m not able to let show the message in the Title Bar with RAM in it. Juan Title: Re: D:\W10-10586.vhd - RAM desapeared from the title bar Post by: PeterSt on May 09, 2016, 06:22:02 pm I am stumped. At least at this moment and without looking in the program what actually determines what the Title Bar shows.
I will try to look into it tomorrow. Kind regards, Peter Title: Re: D:\W10-10586.vhd - RAM desapeared from the title bar Post by: juanpmar on May 09, 2016, 06:31:06 pm Thanks Peter.

As you can see I can Detach the 10565.0 volume but not the 10586.0. I don´t know what I did wrong nor how to fix it up. Regards, Juan Title: Re: D:\W10-10586.vhd - RAM desapeared from the title bar Post by: PeterSt on May 10, 2016, 05:57:38 pm I can stare at this forever, but I don't see what it can be.
Let's hop over to email. Peter Title: Re: D:\W10-10586.vhd - RAM desapeared from the title bar Post by: PeterSt on May 11, 2016, 08:57:03 am The problem was caused by the Copy Settings To field not referring to the X:\XXHighEnd\2.xx\ folder.

I don't know how or when I changed it. Now all is working fine again. Thanks for your help, Juan |
