Title: T7 vs. T5 SQ, T5 seems better in depth/bass etc. Post by: LydMekk on January 30, 2008, 12:32:56 am Have compared T5 to T7 tonight. Sorry to report that depth recital, bass lines etc. is not as good on the T7 version as the T5. T5 flows better, seems more involving.
Read that explorer utils has been added on the T7. Any corrections elsewhere in the code handling the playback which can have changed SQ? Using the same settings, see signatur. You sig doesn't mention whether this is with UnAttended. Actually I don't think so, because with that nothing could have changed the sound. Ok, but one tiny small thingy maybe. So, how did you observe this ? I know that you at least tried UnAttended looking at the other topic from before, but still ... I am using unattended. My latest find is thread priority = Normal ("Nothing" is not the same) BTW sometimes it helps to reboot. When you play one version then change to other version, try rebooting first. T7 sounds "strung on a line between the speakers" while T5 "flows", have very good depth, better bass and sounds more analog. Unattended eliminates the differences between software versions outside the sound engine (#3 that is). Now it only needs that you find unattended better than 0.9t-5 and 0.9t-7. So yes, throughout time I learned that the attended playback is subject to "unrelated" software, e.g. that explorer. I can't help that, and I can't control it much (not yet). So I detached the sound from those things. UnAttended playback ... Peter PS: Sometimes I briefly play normal (attended). And I think I agree with you; some versions ago (would be 0.9t-5 I think) I didn't have as much the need to play unattended. PPS: Maybe I have the idea that unattended has sound better before as well. But again I wouldn't know how, and I blame the equipment. |
