Title: Cannot Modify or Creat a New Playlist with RAM-OS Post by: boleary on February 08, 2016, 12:34:57 pm Playlist changes are not saved on shut down when made in RAM-OS.

I formally have one - the one which is accessed by the combobox at the right hand bottom side of the screen (often hidden). Title: Re: Cannot Modify or Creat a New Playlist with RAM-OS Post by: boleary on February 08, 2016, 01:33:23 pm Yes, the combo box on lower right of screen is where all of my playlists are listed. Just beloe the box is the "Save" button.
Title: Re: Cannot Modify or Creat a New Playlist with RAM-OS Post by: PeterSt on February 08, 2016, 02:37:17 pm That one indeed eh ...
(sorry that I asked the question but I wondered since I didn't think it was used much by people) But Yes, I now see what I forgot ... Quite stupid. So at some stage I sat down to adjust the particular code of saving things and I still remember that I thought "oh, not so much actually". But back then I looked in my Audio PC with one of the OSes new in there and there just wasn't anything (these are .PLXX files). And so I never made code to copy them back to the BASE OS. Btw, same for .LBRY files (like for the Galleries), but this is more vague because these days they should be stored on the Music Server. Ehm, if you have one, which you don't. I don't want to talk you into things you don't like, but if you want, you can copy these files yourself : - Rightclick at Stop - Choose Attach BASE Volume (after inserting the Disk). - After it's attached, you will find your XXData Folder (those files are in there) on Drive X:. - Copy the files of concern from C: (XXData folder) to X: (XXData folder). - When done, Detach BASE Volume. Thank you for pointing this out ! grr Peter Title: Re: Cannot Modify or Creat a New Playlist with RAM-OS Post by: boleary on February 08, 2016, 03:05:26 pm Thanks Peter. Given the complexity it's really a small thing to overlook! Will manage till next XX version comes out by making playlist changes in the base OS.
Title: Re: Cannot Modify or Creat a New Playlist with RAM-OS Post by: PeterSt on February 08, 2016, 03:47:02 pm Quote Btw, same for .LBRY files (like for the Galleries), but this is more vague because these days they should be stored on the Music Server. No, they are not in order, as the .LBRY files of these are caches (copies of what the Library Area shows). This would be true though : When the contents of the Library Area grows somewhat larger (I don't know at this moment but say more that 500 Items) then they are only "enumerated" when you click Search (explicitly). Otherwise the contents is obtained from a .LBRY file where the last "Search click" cause that file to emerge (for its contents). So what now happens is that you put 10 tracks to the Demo Gallery (since the last RAM Boot) *and* you clicked that Search to refresh the cache (that's what it comes down to) and when you shut down and reboot later, this cache is old again and a Search is again required. So what's actually needed is that once in a while you boot into the BASE version and click Search in there (for each of the Galleries you maintain). Is this convenient ? no of course. So one can say that I indeed forgot those too. Will be solved for the next version (2.06). Peter |
