Tried to boot into 10074 base and got the message below. Do I need to change the date in the Bios before booting into 10074? Was a bit tricky getting back into a usable OS. When the error message occurred my usb mouse and keyboard did not work; had to plug in the PS2 versions.

Yeah, I had exactly the same issue when I set everything up last night. But I was so eager to listen to 10586 in RAM that I just left it for another day.

I'm now getting an "Activate Windows" message appearing at the bottom right hand side of my screen in 10586 in RAM. Music plays OK, though sometimes stops at the end of a track (not sure if this is related to the message).

I suppose these issues are date related? I think we need a tutorial on how to set the date back a few months 'properly' so that it works of all the OSs on the RAM-OS disk.

Yes, that should be the date.
I recall that somewhere in the Turorials I said "set to Sept. 2" or something like that, but at this moment I can't find it.

I can't be 100% positive because I never saw the message like you showed. So please give it a try and let us know, ok ?
Btw, set the date in the BIOS at the first attempt and after that maintain it (to be before the end of September) and do that in each OS (for the sake of 10074).

I shipped all with the date OK in each OS (and the same for each OS) but I already figured it would be overwritten bij your PC('s BIOS). Also notice that it is quite wacky to let it be the same everywhere. Depending-on (what ?) the OS may come up with its birth date (Sept. 10 for 10565 and somewhere Oct. for 10586).

I agree that is the error message I have had (before RAM-OS disc) when I had 10074 loaded. A change of date time in BIOS and then in Windows sorted the problem.

But with the RAM-OS disc I had a similar problem booting into 10074 from 586 and that was because the date time had become changed without me realising. I am not sure but it seems that it might be necessary to change all the date times of all the OSes to the same to avoid that happening. I have not done that as, like Mani, I am quite happy to stick with 586 but maybe Peter could comment?

That the date changes all over the place has not been discussed, other than the little in this topic.
I don't know what is causing this although one can feel that it is this "OS birth date" related. Funnily anough I had it finally consistent over all of the OSes the last two days before the disks went out; maybe that is because I booted in all of them so many times, those two days.

Peter, is it allowed to set the date before the birth date? You say set the date before the end of sept for the sake of 10074. But the birth date for 86 is mid okt.
