Title: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: KnB on December 26, 2015, 03:37:28 pm Hi Peter,
Planning to install 2.04 on music server (for Tidal use) Win 10 pro 64 bit, x64 based processor. Win 10 updated and connected to Internet all time. Norton virus protection. Not able to install xxhighend, Message: xxhighend has stopped working, last for 1 second then it goes away. UAC: never notify. Title: Re: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: PeterSt on December 26, 2015, 03:48:04 pm Hi Kjell Narve,
If it is your suggestion that this is Windows 10 (the version you have there) ... then what do you want me to do ? My own answer : nothing and you are on your own. :sorry: If that is not your suggestion, then what is it you want to tell ? I mean, you are experienced enough to sort out what is going on yourself. So I guess it is about Windows 10 ... Might people have the idea that I may need to install a normal Windows 10 and have it upgraded 2 times or whatever per day and let me adjust whatever is needed to XXHighEnd to keep it running, then ... people thought wrong. :) :) So what's up ? Kind regards, Peter Title: Re: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: PeterSt on December 26, 2015, 03:50:41 pm PS: XXHighEnd runs on W10 Build 10586.0 for sure.
BUT Possibly you try to tell me it is about 2.04 for you ?? Now THAT could be so (not that I know how) ... What about 2.03 ? And what *is* the W10 version you have there ? I'm afraid the problem just is not clear to me ... Title: Re: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: KnB on December 26, 2015, 04:19:37 pm Hi Peter,
Not sure what will be required when xxhighend will be used to download from tidal, no playback... I was hoping to keep the music server updated with latest windows updates, but this might not be a good Ida?, I mean even for this purpose. Was not able to install 2.03 on win 8.1 or win 10586 (And 2.04 on win 10) Have tested a lot of different things, but no success on this particular computer. Running out of ideas. Oh well, If I can't figure this out I just skip Tidal. Title: Re: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: PeterSt on December 26, 2015, 04:39:02 pm No wait ...

I still need to know better what is going on. So what you say now is that you installed 186++ XXHighEnd versions, and that now suddenly you can't any more. Not on W10, but also not on W8.1. Well, 8.1 is "critical" because we all never used that, but for sure that works too. Anyway : So there you are. You have a PC and you, say, are going to install XXHighEnd 2.03. It is your 195th time. What is suddenly different ? You really must try to help me so I can help you better ... Peter Title: Re: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: KnB on December 26, 2015, 05:09:08 pm Hi Peter,
Ok, music server (not xxhighend pc) have never been used with xxhighend, only for storing music. (Among other tasks like ripping etc) Maybe I got it all wrong, but as I understand I can use xxhighend to stream music from Tidal to the designated folder witch can be accessible to the xxhighend PC? - for this purpose I am now for the first time installing xxhighend to the server. Btw, I am using 2.04 on the xxhighend pc, all working nice, but would like possibility to use Tidal... Title: Re: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: PeterSt on December 26, 2015, 07:44:05 pm Quote Btw, I am using 2.04 on the xxhighend pc, all working nice I suppose this is all too difficult for *me* to comprehend. So now suddenly all is working fine ? Good. Quote but would like possibility to use Tidal... I am really sorry, but what is the problem NOW then ? What if you spend 10 times more words on your problem ? I really can't guess ... Sorry ! Peter Title: Re: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: KnB on December 26, 2015, 08:00:22 pm Never mind, not important to use music server with xxhighend.
-topic can be deleted. Title: Re: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: KnB on December 27, 2015, 03:19:18 pm Finally I got Xxhighend installed on server -virus protection was preventing installation, I was sure everything was disabled but no..
Then I can start using Tidal. :) Title: Re: XXHighEnd on music server Post by: PeterSt on December 27, 2015, 03:36:55 pm :) :)
The worst part : I was sure I asked you about Norton Antivirus. But I now see that somehow I didn't. grr But OK ! Peter |
