Title: Windows 10 SQ Post by: Gerard on June 09, 2015, 03:03:02 pm This morning i installed Imdisk (somehow it was not easy) and i have played many many cd's without any problem. No hickups or strange stops!!!!
Never heard such purity!! Piano sounds so unbelievable real. :o  So much more detail and the bass is so deep. Playing at lower levels is so much fun. All the detail that you stil can hear. Could not wish for anything more.... Yes let it be like this :NY01: Title: Re: Windows 10 SQ Post by: Scroobius on June 09, 2015, 07:46:23 pm I also have 202 on W10 working now and I agree with everything Gerard says.
Maybe the only way Microsoft can get something right is by accident!! it is a shame that they will probably never know what they did in build 10074. It was impossible to improve on what I had before because it sounded so damn good (how many times have I said that before?). Well W10 202 does and how. On good jazz recordings with real instruments the sound is simply more palpable - real sounding. Human voice is stunning and solo wind instruments you can here the minutest strands. I just hope it will be possible to get RDC working in MinOS because without the video card screen and keyboard mouse it is going to bring about another improvement. Also I really do want to see XX on my mobile phone ;) Cheers Paul Title: Re: Windows 10 SQ Post by: Diede on June 10, 2015, 10:45:08 am Yesterday I’ve been listening to W10 & 2.02 for 5 straight hours.
In short: SQ is fantastic! :o Not easy to describe sound without any noticable flaws, but I’ll give it a try nonetheless. Very engaging and detailed with a very precise soundstage, but without being over analytical or fatiguing in any way. In other words very musical. Highs are super clear, cymbals really sound life-like with sufficient attack and decay. I never heard a bass drum sound as realistic, very tight yet full and defined. The double bass in certain songs could sound a little wobbly before when hitting the low notes, not any more. It is now also very easy to locate in the soundstage, very precise. Voices are so good, mesmerising even. One of the first songs I played didn’t sound very good, I could hear too much of the echo effect (life recording). My first thoughts were, hmm, there are those over accentuated highs from early W8 again. But this was just this one recording, all others sounded very natural, detailed and without any hiss whatsoever. A good reference is also clapping in life recordings. In the past this could sound annoying and almost like noise. With W10 and 2.02 you can almost hear each person individually clap hands, and you can grasp/feel the size of the concert hall by it. One could say that it can’t get any better than this, but probably Peter will come up with something new in the near future (2.12, NOS2 ?) and proof me wrong. In the meantime however I’m more than happy with the sound I’m getting right now. :biglol: Thank you Peter, for investing time in W10 at this early stage! :thankyou: Title: Re: Windows 10 SQ Post by: Arjan on June 13, 2015, 11:38:01 am FANTASTIC, unheard realistic.
Best OS ever, for us. Regards, Arjan Title: Re: Windows 10 SQ Post by: michaeljeger on June 13, 2015, 10:43:12 pm As stated in another post, I am out of my shoes.
Another layer is gone, giving more clarity and live impression. You guys cannot image what I am hearing here with my Abyss Headphones ;) Michael Title: Re: Windows 10 SQ Post by: Robert on July 05, 2015, 06:26:43 am I loaded up W10-Ver10074 and XXhighend202 which went much easier than 201. Sound definitely, quite a large stepup from W8 201. Well worth the effort. Every aspect of the sound is improved from Bass to Treble. Its like all notes created by each instrument now have a 3D extension.
I have a question is following the Sweetwater W8 optimization worth doing still? Don't know why I lost the first successful activation? Anyway its working great even my musician wife noticed the difference especially on Leonard Cohen's Old Ideas. His voice, the Webb sisters, the instruments(one off her favourites). One can only hope W10 may get better but not counting on that one!!!! More great work Thanks Peter. Robert, nothing of that has been necessary ever, when using XXHighEnd. It is all in there inherently (MinOS and Unattended). Peter |
