Title: 2.00a cover art error messages
Post by: boleary on May 17, 2015, 02:36:16 pm
So with some, not all, cd rips I have gotten the following error messages when using cover art:
"The Drive C for this track seems not to support short DOS 8.3 names, cover art not available. "

After clicking "okay" a second message appears which gives an option for renaming the CheckDOS83 txt to tss. After clicking okay then the cover art appears anyway. I changed the name of the CheckDOS file but it made no difference.

One time when this happened and the track started to play it was way too slow. However, every other time, after receiving these messages, the cover art would appear and the track would play fine.

So this problem does not occur with Roberta Flack Greatest Hits but does occur with all Eva Cassidy cd's.

Then you must check your procedure I guess, because it is impossible to NOT make a difference. If that file is renamed to the .tss extension the message WILL NOT appear.

So it is my estimate that the CheckDos83.tst file still exists ...

And just a hint :

When you are using a RAMDisk, better apply the change in both the RAMDisk and the original source for it.

Well I just checked and cover art is working fine now. So when I changed the file to tss yesterday I did not do so on the RamDisc drive, so that must have been the problem yesterday. Now with the tss file properly copied to the RamDisc all error messages have disappeared and the cover art is appearing without any problems.
