Title: HDCD problem 1.186-i Post by: Tore on January 03, 2015, 02:46:09 pm Hi Peter!
!.186-i is working fine but it is one problem: HDCD CD`s Often they will not start playing. If they start playing the next CD without HDCD is not starting. Then i have to close xxhighend and start it again I hope you can solve that problem in the next xxhighend version Tore Title: HDCD problem 1.186-i Post by: manisandher on January 03, 2015, 04:09:28 pm Hi Tore, I've had the exact same problem with HDCDs for ages now. I've commented on the problem quite a few times here, but I guess Peter has other priorities. This is a shame because virtually all HDCDs sound superb (among the best sounding CDs I have).
The workaround for now is to convert your 16/44.1 HDCD rips to 24/44.1 files. You can re-rip with dBpoweramp and engage HDCD dsp, or just use dBpoweramp's Music Converter to convert your current rips to 24/44.1 files. HTH. Mani. HDCD is just difficult to have right for all situations. And what I recall is that in 1.186-i a new bug for it was introduced. But already solved here for the next version. Regards, Peter PS: Notice that the real problems occur when HDCD and not-HDCD are in the same folder. So that is not allowed and it will never be. I've had some issues with HDCD, so did some (about 1 minute's worth) of research. Does anyone on this forum have any experience with hdcd.exe (just do a google search..) I presume this could solve all HDCD issues, once the hdcd encoded files are converted to 24 bit files? That was exactly what I was hinting at... If you convert all your hdcd files to 24 bit files, you will not have any hdcd files anymore, so the problem is solved.... Or am I missing something here??? Henk Title: Re: HDCD problem 1.186-i Post by: PeterSt on February 22, 2015, 05:34:18 pm Hi Henk,
